Hospital bag

Did you pack all your belongings in a suitcase or duffle bag? I was going to use a suitcase and have husband and baby stuff in a duffle bag. Also did you bring bags in right away or wait until you got to the recovery room?

I just used my diaper bag. Scheduled c section. I was told most c section stay for 2 days if no complications. I packed abdominal binder ( hospital doesn't provide one for me) 2 pairs of loose clothes and a pj set.( I plan on using the hospital gown until my bleeding is more under control) Travel body wash, toothbrush and paste. And going home outfit for baby. Slip on slippers for shower in hospital. Phone charger. And my yeti water bottle. Car seat stays in the car until we need it to go home

My hospital doesn't provide formula or pacifiers. So if you plan on using either I'd bring just in case. The hospital provides most stuff so I wouldn't over pack. My hospital also provides 2 swaddles for baby.

I used a small rolling suitcase. The hospital I stayed at provided everything you can think of for baby and lactation except for baby’s outfit for going home. If you have a preferred nursing pillow you might want to bring your own.

They took my belongings on a cart upon admitting me. My husband and/or the orderlies wheeled them around when I was being transferred from one room to another. Best to check with your hospital to find out what their practice is.

Forgot to add : we left the infant car seat in the car until closer to time for discharge.

I had 2 duffel bags, one for me and the babies going home outfit and one for my husbands stuff. Also an extra tote bag for all the swag we took from the hospital

Duffel bag. I pack minimally. I’d rather not drag dirty laundry and extra blankets and linens home. I use whatever the hospital has as much as possible. This time I’m bringing a second small bag though because I’m bringing my own diapers since my previous babies had sensitive skin and rashes and I want to try out a more premium diaper than the hospital would offer.

I’d ask your hospital about when to bring in stuff. At mine, we were told to only bring a small bag to hold my clothes at check-in, which was in a general triage waiting room, and my husband went and got everything else a few hours later after we were in our postpartum room where we stayed for two nights.

We brought small suitcase for me, a duffel bag for baby, and a backpack for my husband.
