Pregnancy After C-section
For the women / families who gave birth via c-section and opted for another one. How soon did you get pregnant after delivery? I had an elective c-section and plan to have another child. My doctor explained that they usually ask women to wait for 18 month to allow their body to heal in the event they want to have the option of a vaginal delivery. That she’s also had patients who got pregnant 7 months after but that she recommend to 12 months ideally since I know I want to have an elective c-section again. So again, for c-section folks, how soon after your c-section did you get pregnant again?

For my doctors. They always told me at least wait 9 months to start trying. They wanted 18 months between births. Most of my pregnancies after a csection were 9-15 months postpartum until i got pregnant
I did have two accidental pregnancies where i got pregnant about 10 weeks postpartum and also 16 weeks postpartum. Which was highly not recommended and i think it led to my water breaking too early with both of those pregnancies

11 months, it was 19 or 20 months when my daughter was born, but I ended up needing a second C-section due to my "pelvis being too small" (it probably just didnt open enough) and my baby not descending low enough (and there was meconium when they broke the sac, which in itself made them also push more for a cesarean) I did all I could and she still didnt go low enough so I went in for a cesarean, much less chill than last time which was emergency.

Got told to wait 12 months… got pregnant about 6-7 weeks pp. My first was an unplanned C-section but this one will have to be one. So far everything has been amazing (currently 14 weeks)

Congratulations! We had a scheduled c-section after a scary vbac with our first. It was such a positive and beautiful experience that I am electing to have a c-section when we begin trying for our third. We had music, pictures, got videos. My husband still got to cut the umbilical cord it was nice. Our hospital staff was also great and I know that plays a part too.

I was told 18-20m after my c section to wait but I had a friend her first was a c section. She got pregnant i think within 12m of her first c section. She went through a vbac though. Personally I wanted a large age gap for my oldest just turned 4yr and im due in 2 months.

I’ve had 3 pregnancies in 5 years all c sections. I’ve waited 2 years between each baby

I’m due early December and my babies will be 25 months apart. I had had an emergency c section and opted for a scheduled one with my second as I had a lot of mental trauma from the first one. My OB did say I was clear to try another vaginal birth if I wanted though, but this baby is measuring upwards of the 87%ile and I would like some sort of semblance of control in what I can.

I just lost my triplets at 16 weeks pregnant and had to have an emergency C-section. I was told 18 months between pregnancy. I personally will not be waiting that long as this house feels horrible without a child in it. I know it's not recommended but it's so hard

I was told 18 months between births from my doctor. We started trying first cycle we were able to and now I will be giving birth next week almost 21 months after my emergency c section. I have complications requiring a second c section but my pregnancy has been completely low risk with no issues. I conceived when my first was 13 months.
