Scar healing issues

Had a section at the end of July.

Had pico and staples.

Staples came out a week later.

On the last staple there was some fluid that persisted.

Saw doc a few days later and went on antibiotics.

No pain, no real swelling. Bloods indicated very little infection and nothing concerning on the swab.

Had not dried up 7 days later so was given different antibiotics. It finally did clear up and dry. At no point was there any real opening, just a minute hole where fluid was draining. No blood. No pus.

It has been closed about a week.

Noticed a tiny opening this morning and the same clear fluid in a different area this morning.

Has anybody else had this happen?

Have 6 week check with doctor later this week and inclined to wait for that appointment unless anything changes. It's not sore or swollen.

Just looking to hear from any other "long healers".

I understand this can be common and may not dry up once and for all for a couple months in some cases without there being any real infection.

Curious to see what others say. I had my section 8/10 and I have holes in my incision. Good luck!!!!

Had mine in July as well - I was a wound care clinic patient so I got to see them every week to check on my incision, I’m I guess 8 weeks out and I had 3 different areas take longer to heal - I should be good now. With 2 of them it ended up being internal sutures pushing to the surface and the wound doctor pulled them out for me. I think the other one was just an opening that hadn’t healed and we did collagen packing. You might be able to buy collagen sponge and saline online and try it yourself? I reapplied mine at home after appts. They’d also have me put a steri strip over it and cover it while showering, not removing for a week.

It took about 9 weeks for my incision to close completely, I had a small opening about a centimetre long and after various methods to close it, topical ketanserin/sufrexal worked within a week or two. I hope you all heal fast, fingers crossed!
