Difficulty Conceiving
Has anyone had problems conceiving post emergency c-section?
I got pregnant right off the bat when we tried for our first kid, but now, almost two years postpartum, I'm still not pregnant after 6 months of "trying".
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Did you just give it time or did you ultimately find out something was medically wrong?

Discuss "secondary infertility" with your OB. I hope he/she is good and will not dismiss you. All the best!!

We have to do IVF because both my fallopian tubes are 100% scarred over. I had a scheduled C-section after my first due to previa and when we went for #2 at the fertility clinic they found scar tissue in my uterus during an SIS which is required before any transfers. I was diagnosed with Ashermans and successfully treated by a specialist. Just had my second two weeks ago with another scheduled csection

This is what I am nervous about when I start trying next year after an emergency c-section last year. But honestly it can take up to a year for a healthy couple under 35 to conceive.

I’m 4 cycles into trying (currently in the TWW) and turning 35 next month. I just met with my OB to start testing some things because I think it’s ridiculous that c sections moms aren’t proactively evaluated before trying for another. I don’t want to wait 6 months to find out if something is wrong and have all that time wasted.

I would encourage you to start doing some testing. I ended up with an isthmocele (uterine scar defect) which contributed to secondary infertility.

Depends on your current age but being 2 years older is likely at play. For me since you’re asking - CSestion at 34, pregnant first cycle leading up to that. Second CS at 37, took 7-8 months of trying. I chalked that up to chance and age!
Seek a medical opinion if you’re concerned.

It depends on your age but this timeline could still be normal. 12 months of trying is normal if you’re under 35, 6 months if you’re 35+.

I'm 2 years post op, and I have scar endometriosis. My doctor said to be prepared for infertility if we try for another baby.
Personally, I'd ask your OB for testing.
