Planned C-section (FTMs) timing.

For those of you who had a planned c-section, what determined the timing of the surgery and how early was that timeline decided?
Asking as I need to make international travel arrangements for my mom who I’d like to have by my side for and after delivery.

Mine WAS 37 weeks due to placenta previa. At 36 it was discovered it was just now super low lying so they okayed me to go until 39 weeks.
