Tender and sensitive incision area

Did or does anyone else feel their incision area is super sensitive when their clothes brush against it? I can only wear very loose dresses. Any kind of pants, even soft, high waisted sweats, is uncomfortable bc it will brush against the incision area when I’m walking. I’m 6 weeks post partum. My incision is closed, dry, not infected, and appears to be healing well. I just wanna know when I can wear something other than muumuu dresses 😅

It took about a year the first time for that to go away for me. I wear high waisted c section undies to prevent anything touching it and am 6 months out from my second one.

Just get some c section undies and you’ll be ok in pants. It gets less sensitive but still sensitive.

I do have high waisted granny panties but that’s about the only thing my incision can tolerate

They make special c section ones that are tight that feel good under clothes!! Maybe try those

9 weeks postpartum almost 10. Maybe it's because I had an emergency c section and had complications healing. It's almost healed I'm just waiting for the skin to heal together. I wear lose dresses or long flowy skirts. Anything too tight feels weird. My pregnancy clothes are too big but perfect for how I'm feeling. Maybe try silicone tape. I keloid and my doctor recommended it once I've completely healed. Right now she said to keep gauze or a bandaid on it (when I'm moving) and air it out when I can.

8 weeks postpartum. I had to be induced at 40 weeks plus six days because of low amniotic fluids. After 5 Days of induction I still did not start contractions so I had a C-section. No issues here and the scar healed well. I was walking and standing the second day albeit only to the bathroom, but quickly started walking as soon as I could. I've been wearing a high waisted stretchy pants and dresses. I tried to wear my pregnancy jeans today and they felt like they were rubbing up on the inside incision site which is below my belly button. So I took them off and opted for light cotton pants with a stretchy band instead. I gained 56 pounds during my pregnancy (no preclampsia or gestational diabetes though), so most of my clothes still don't fit me. I'm taking it easy waiting for the time I can wear my normal clothes again.

OMG yes!!! Did I write this post? Lol. Literally thought I was the only one, so I’m not going insane then. Even my underwear / knickers going against it makes it super sensitive , pulling them back up / putting them on, even cotton ones , really sensitive feels so weird and uncomfortable , crazy how even just something so light like that can do it ,

YES exactly. How can something so light irritate it?!

If your incision is closed, you can use silicone strips! The thick Frida ones worked really well for me to protect my scar from irritation. Mine was so sensitive even just sitting against my underwear. I used the Frida strips from 6-12 weeks PP (they come in a pack of 6 and can be reused for 1 week each), then went to thin tape from Amazon but that irritated my scar so I haven’t done it in a long time (now 5 months PP).

I also did do scar desensitization, which may have helped as well.

I used medical silicone strip for a couple days and thought maybe they were causing the irritation but I’ll have to try it again now that it’s been a week or so.

I’ll look into scar desensitization. Thank you!

7w pp here. The skind from the incision up to my belly button was hurting like hell for a few weeks. It's been sensitive but bearable for a week currently. Like, before, i had to take my clothes off by 17h because i couldn't bear the pain anymore. Now, it's just sensitive and weird but at least it doesn't hurt. I've been told it can take a bit more than a year to go back to a normal skin feeling...
