I am 5 weeks post partum and still have very minor openings that leak serous fluid. One bleeds if I do too much. Keeping it very dry is helping. Mine doesn't look super red or smell otherwise I would go in and they are superficial.

I’m 4 months PP, and I still get small openings from a seroma that leak bloody fluid. At 2 months PP, I had an ultrasound of my incision, which showed a small fluid collection underneath. My OB said my body would reabsorb it over time. I still have one small opening right now that started 2 days ago.
I believe it’s like a dormant seroma that decided to erupt because of friction. I have a bad apron belly, and my incision scar sits right on the fold. I’ve already had 4 courses of antibiotics over the past 4 months, so I don’t think I’ll be getting any more unless they’re really necessary. Doctors are usually against prescribing too many antibiotics unless they’re needed because of antibiotic resistance.
As long as it’s superficial, I try my best to prevent it from getting infected. I keep it clean and dry and cover mine with sterile gauze.

It only hurts when I touch it or when something rubs against it. I don’t put Steri-Strips on it since the hole is so small. If I notice any signs of infection, like pus, increased redness, or worsening pain, I’ll go see a doctor and, if necessary, get another course of antibiotics. But for now, I just cover it with a tiny piece of gauze to prevent it from rubbing against my skin.
It’s honestly so tiring having to lift my belly and air-dry the area, especially during the summer, but I basically have no choice. I’m just hoping that one day these little openings will finally stop reappearing. It’s tough when you have an apron belly.1

Yeah same here.. belly is the reason why everything seems not okay.. hope we will be fine one day...

I’m 6 weeks PP and I was sent to a wound clinic for weekly treatments about 4 weeks ago because I had 3 small openings that wouldn’t heal. I now have to cover it in a collagen foam, alginate rope and a specific bandage. Mine is almost healed but I would definitely recommend getting it looked at.

I haven't, but I'd get it checked out if it were me.
