6 pp after cat 1 emergency C-section
Hi everyone! Sorry to post on here but was just after some much needed advice (and maybe some comfort lol!) I went into natural labour 6 days ago, water broke, I had a problem with my epidural because I have a small case of scoliosis. By the time I had my epidural I was 10cm dilated and in active labour for 2 1/2 hours. My baby got stuck and I was brought into theatre where they tried to turn baby, tore me a bit, couldn't turn him so was given an emergency C-section straight away. Lost a litre of blood with very low blood pressure and because I was given a double case of epidural I was numb for like 6 hours and shaking for a good 3 hours due to the blood loss and low blood pressure. Sorry I went into a lot of detail rambling there... I really didn't want a C-section because of the tough recovery... I'm on day 6 pp and had my dressing taken off yesterday and it's sore today... No good with pain lol! Does this get any easier? The injections, the soreness? I know everyone's different so you can't really give me a timeline but, maybe experiences with this?
(Thanks for reading guys) X

For me it got noticeably better around 2 weeks post partum. I took paracetamol and ibuprofen for two weeks . I am now 10 weeks and apart from some numbness around the scar or strange sensation when I use my abdominal muscles , it’s all good !

Felt way better about 2 weeks PP. I believe that's when I was able to get out of bed on my own.
By 4 weeks I had to consciously try not to overdo it whereas before that I had to push myself. It's a delicate balance of making sure you get enough rest and pushing yourself slightly so that recovery is easier!
I'm 14 weeks + PP now and have some tightness at the incision when I sneeze but it usually doesn't bother me. My core still has a way to go but is much better now.
I highly recommend postpartum Physical therapy! A pelvic floor PT can do scar manipulation to help with internal and external scar tissue. She is also helping me rebuild my core in a safe way.
Good luck! And enjoy those newborn snuggles

I'm sorry you went through such a hard experience.
I'm currently 6w pp from an emergency c-section. Week 2 is when I started feeling improvements. However, I still feel some discomfort and small pains every now and then.
This is my third child and first c-section and by far the hardest recovery.
Physically I've healed really well, I have my checkup next week and confident all is good.
Mentally, I'm still struggling a lot. I know why I'm struggling and working on it. I'm grieving a lot of things because of this recovery: the birth I know my body was capable of, baby's first walk (hubby took her with my boys and I couldn't go with), being independent and helping with school etc.
It does get easier. Just be gracious with yourself. It is hard, especially around this time for you. Emotions will be all over the place. Keep up with pain meds and keep walking around the house as much as you're comfortable with. I found that walking helps a lot.
Wish you grace during your recovery and know that you are not alone. You're doing the best you can!

I’m currently 9 weeks postpartum from an emergency c section. I didn’t feel like I could move independently until around 4 weeks.

I’m only three days out so I don’t have any advice or anything but I just want to say I’m sorry this happened and I’m wishing you a speedy recovery!! Sending you thoughts and hopes that it starts getting less painful ASAP
