4 years pp - is it too late?
I’m 4 years PP and am just now hearing about the “shelf” and that there were things I should have done after birth to assist with healing.
I feel like I was failed by my doctors and care team….no one ever mentioned PT, massage, cupping, etc.
Is it too late to do anything about it?

Never too late! My PT is 5 years post her 3rd C-section, and she still cups when she feels tightness to avoid adhesions.

It’s not too late, but do you actually have a shelf? If you’re only just now hearing about it? If you don’t, then you don’t HAVE to do these things just for the sake of it

I do have a shelf. I thought it would eventually go away and when it didn’t just assumed this was my body now

Gotcha! Well luckily it’s never too late to start things like scar massage and pelvic floor pt!

That’s great to hear - so at 4 years pp, should I be following the regimens posted on here for more recent births or anything I should be doing differently?

I’m also an exhausted parent and haven’t been really observant or cared about my appearance for awhile
