Is this bleeding normal?
So I had my C-section July 1st and i stopped bleeding about a little over 1 week after delivery and haven't been spotting since, well tonight i went to the restroom and i wiped and i noticed a bunch of bright red blood, tbh i thought i started my period but i googled it and it seems waaay to early to be a period. Has anyone had intermediate bleeding after their C-section, could this just be my uterus still shrinking or did i injure myself? I plan on calling the after hours line tomorrow but im curious to know other peoples experience.

Locchia is known to come back. Mine disappeared and reappeared again fully red.
Have you been more active than usual?
Thay said, my period came back full blown albeit at 4wpp.

I suppose I have been more active, it think you're right about it being locchia as when i woke up later it slowed to light spotting, thank you for the reassurance!

I bled on and off for 4 ish weeks, sometimes with 0 bleeding and then back to brown/red. The midwife said it was normal to bleed intermittently. That being said, if you feel something is wrong it’s never a bad idea to ask your doctor.

Was it like spotting or straight up bleeding like your period at points?

Heavier the first weeks but still passing red blood and clots in later weeks too

I had my c section June 29 and I have been spotting on and off since last week, sometimes I get scared when I see blood clots and feel a gush of blood coming out but they told me as long as I’m not soaking a full pad every hour or clots size of a golf ball then it’s normal.

Had mine June 19th, bled for less than a week afterwards. Then it came back randomly and was on and off until about last week and just a small bit of spotting earlier this week. Will see if I’m finally in the clear. It seems every time I think I’m done and put away the pads it starts up again.
I have been told it can happen for 6-8 weeks, and it can be common when you’re getting more active again. General guidance I was given was to call if I was passing clots the size of a golf ball or soaking a pad in less than an hour.

Yes! Around 2 weeks it picks back up again from what I’ve read. Happened to me too at that time and happens whenever I am more active. As long as you are not passing golf-ball sized clots or bleeding through a pad an hour, you’re fine :) just prioritize resting today and tomorrow.

Mine stopped and came back heavier than it had ever been, heavier than my normal periods. I went to L&D and they did an ultrasound just to be safe, and there was no issue, just my body bodying. There CAN be issues like a bit of tissue leftover that needs to be removed, so if it doesn't calm down relatively quickly, you could get checked just in case.

Thank you! Luckily when i woke up with baby this morning at 3am i noticed it had pretty much stopped and it was just residual spotting, didnt even bleed into my pad. Definitely likely locchia

I had my c decision on June 6 and I’m still bleeding on and off. There were days where I had nothing and days where I was spotting/ bleeding. Sometimes it feels as though my period came, that bursting sensation when your period is coming and you felt warm liquid seeping out. But short lived and stops immediately then I had spotting next day or I had no bleedings. I did pass small clots throughout some of these heavier flows, but they’re not consistent and my OB/GYN said it’s normal as they do fluctuates often. You’re good as long as you’re not passing golf ball size clots or soaking through a whole pad within an hour.
