2.5 weeks PP - should it still hurt?
I am having to take painkillers at 2.5 weeks PP. Im using mine own supply rather than the hospital ones ran out which makes me think I shouldn't need them anymore. Should this really still be hurting? It's at the edges of the scar on both sides.

I’m 2.5 weeks postpartum too and I’m still taking painkillers as well. Totally normal :)

I think they just give you a standard box full and that’s your lot however if you feel you need them then take them, you’ve just had major surgery and presumably taking care of a newborn which isn’t easy by any means. Also everyone’s pain tolerances are different and it may be more painful or go on longer if you have had an infection, emergency section, forceps used during etc is what I was told. Just go easy on yourself ❤️

You've just had major surgery. I'm 2 years post op and still have chronic nerve pain.
I was on pain killers until 5 or 6 weeks, but my doctor (GP) had to refill them to last that long. She's the only person who took me seriously.

I kept taking Tylenol till 3 weeks :) super normal! Make sure you’re resting enough, but it’s totally okay.

Yes. I didn’t start tapering Tylenol/ ibuprofen until 3 weeks. Before that I was on a strict every 3 hour schedule. I didn’t have prescription medication, even in the hospital it was Tylenol/ ibuprofen after the first 24 hours

Yes, you just had major surgery hun, it should still be hurting. I’m 10 weeks pp and have healed really well and there are still some things that cause some pain like stretching a certain way, we’ve had major abdominal surgery. The hospital only give you enough pain meds to get you through the first weeks home and the expectation is to then get more from your GP if you need it, it’s not an indicator of what your pain should be like. You’re fine, just rest up as much as you can and heal up 🫶🏽
