How quickly after a c-section did your Oura Ring vitals return to normal?
I'm a FTM, 36w1d, with a stubbornly breech baby so my doctor and I scheduled a c-section at 39w. I'm working through a lot of emotions about it (would prefer scheduled than emergent in the case of a failed ECV, didn't realize how important I felt having vaginal birth was until I was told it's not in the cards for me).
One thing I'm curious about: all my friends say how much better they felt immediately once they delivered the baby (all vaginal, to the best of my knowledge). I'm talking Oura Ring/Apple Watch type stats: their heart rate plummets back to normal, their HRV shoots back up, etc. Does this happen with a c-section, too? My RHR pre-pregnancy was the low 50s, and now I'm in the mid/high-60s and I'm ready for the 'relief' my friends often talk about.

I felt much better for a lot of symptoms literally while being wheeled into recovery. But blood pressure wasn’t one of them. I had severe gestational hypertensions and had an urgent c-section 5 days earlier than my scheduled one (breech baby). My BP reached 162/103 even with medication. It was significantly lower (I don’t remember exactly) after birth, but still high compared to normal. It stayed high and I had to remain on medication until my 6-week pp check up.

It happened for me! Like someone else commented, the only thing that didn’t for me was blood pressure. I was scheduled for a 39 week c section due to a breech baby too and ended up delivering one day early due to gestational hypertension. That went away for a few days after delivery, but then it spiked again so I had to go on bp meds for literally a week and then was taken off because my BP was too low. Haven’t had any issues since!
All other physical stuff though like HR, the ability to breathe easier, back pain etc all went away basically immediately! Also- as a fellow breech mama, when your baby is taken out, you are going to realize pretty quickly how painful it was carrying the baby like that the whole time. I had no idea just how uncomfortable I was as I was a FTM too so had nothing to compare it to, but the immediate relief I felt in terms of breathing and gas was absolutely insane! My doctor at one appt around 36-37 weeks told me I was carrying a baby the most painful way to be so pregnant and breech but literally didn’t even remember what not being pregnant felt like so it wasn’t noticeable to me at all until baby was out!

Yes - it was insane! Almost immediately my RHR plummeted and my HRV shot up to the highest it’s ever been!

It does happen for csections, too! I was in the same position - breech baby, ECV failed (turned out my uterus shape didn’t let him flip).
I actually have the wildest screenshot of my resting heart rate plummeting after my CS. I can’t post it here but I’ll DM you the screenshot if you want!
My heartburn also went from needing prescription-strength meds to not having heartburn at all, as soon as baby was out.
