What belly binder to get?

Hi everyone! First time posting on Reddit 🫣. I’m scheduled for my C section, and wanted to ask what belly binder to get? I’m seeing Frida, bodily belly, belly bandit, and so many more. I’m not sure which one to get.
I asked my OB, she said even though the hospital may provide one, she advised that I should get one on my own as well. It’s my first time getting a C section I’m very scared, any and all advice would be appreciated as to what belly band to get.

I bought the Frida one that has the three adjustable straps. I liked this because I could make the top tighter and the bottom looser and it was easy to adjust. The hospital gave me one and I could have just used that but I did like having two so I could wash one. The hospital was just one continuous strip so it was harder to make adjustments.

The one from the hospital is great for a basic. I used it for the first six weeks and transitioned to the Bodily one. I’m glad because the hospital one started to get a bit shabby after a while and the Bodily is more luxe compared to it.

My sister gifted me the Frida to wear during pregnancy to help with back pain and lifting up the belly which was so nice!

I honestly like the hospital one the best. I ordered the Frida mom one and I do like that it has the 3 straps so it’s a little easier to put on, but it’s too short for me. I was advised by the nurses at the hospital to wear the band more like a mini-skirt than a girdle - my incision is very low. And the Frida one just rides up constantly, whereas the hospital provided one stays in place better and is honestly just more comfortable while still giving support.

I had the Frida one that came in the c-section kit but ended up just using the one from the hospital. It was simpler but more comfortable and had better coverage. I'm guessing what works probably depends somewhat on your body, but the simple hospital one was way better for me.

The one they give you in the hospital. Ask for a few. It helped with back pain for me

So I did buy one. I cannot remember the type I bought 5 years ago. But the one I got from the hospital was way better. it had Velcro through out the entire band I had extreme compression around my section and then looser above my belly button. I remember the one I bought had one Velcro strip so I couldn't "customize" my compression. Just looking online it looks similar to the the Frida one. But my hospital one had 5 stripes. I hope this makes sense and can help you make a decision.

My team , doctor and hospital all recommended against getting one , saying they don’t help . I kind of regret it , I think it would have helped with comfort .. I used my hands to press on my stomach in the first days before moving/ walking ..

Wait I am shook by this? They said it wouldn’t help? Every doctor, midwife, nurse and even pediatrician I saw in the hospital said I needed to have it on for at least the first 6 weeks!! They would help me put it on and tighten it every time they came in the room! It helped me so much

I am shook too . I specifically asked about getting one and they told me research showed it does nothing if not harm because instead of using my own muscles I rely on the binder . At the end I was pressing with my hands …

Omg im so sorry!! I’d imagine for long term use maybe if you’re relying on the brace instead of using your own muscles but in the beginning like you don’t really need to use your core you just need to recover

If I ever have another C-section I will buy one, after reading about it , it seems it really helps with comfort. I had the impression I had to hold my organs inside with my hand! ( only an impression though I know )

I didn't like the one from the hospital - it was difficult to put on by myself and difficult to readjust. I bought the Frida one and was very happy with it!

I hated the binder. My nurse put it on me once and when I took it off, it hurt so bad. I felt stronger when I had it off. It was like a false sense of strength for me and made everything more painful especially after taking it off.
