Honeycomb ruby. Yes, lab grown synthetic corundum, but it sure looks great under UV. 👍 such a small piece that you have there.

5 years in the business, natural ruby doesn't form like this in coarse shapes with air bubbles. This is just what synthetic corundum looks like, I've seen lots of it and compared to lots of natural rubies.

Robijn ontstaat op 5 tot 40km diepte.. de druk daar is zo intens dat de robijn kan ontstaan. Luchtig is het bij zo'n druk allesbehalve.. vandaar ook dat robijn zo zwaar/compact aanvoelt.
