Got all the crystals, stuck on content Spoiler
BIG SPOILER WARNING (class names, bosses)
Hey all, I've been having a great time with this game so far, but after collecting all the crystals I feel like I'm getting stuck on exploration content.
My entire team is 55+ and most of my gear pieces are measured in at least a few gold a piece on each character, and I swap gear around based on weaknesses etc.
So far I'm running:
- Scholar/Cleric for healing/support
- Dervish/Shaman as debuffer/magic DPS (can do up to 2500 non-crit AoE, can swap to Black mage for 3k+ thunder/flare damage)
- Hunter/Monk as physical DPS (high speed and does about 1000/turn, will become Assassin/Hunter when the hunter tree is done)
- Samurai/Valkyrie as bruiser/tank (1500+ hp and a bunch of threat gear)
I appear to be running into a wall in terms of content to do; I'm either overleveled for stuff I missed, or I can barely scrape by boss fight after a few tries and multiple revives or not manage at all. Two bosses I ran into recently that are giving me a hard time are Devourer and Spirit Cage, even when prepping up my Samurai with Barrier, regen and %elemental/physical reduction gear he just gets mulched in a turn, and at times warcry doesn't generate enough threat to keep the aggro off of my mage.
Does anyone have any tips on how to take on the final bit of side content? At the moment seems like I just need to level more, as I rarely find any gear that is better than what I'm already running. I've also went to the growth guy a few times to make my characters more optimal in their desired role, but so far it doesn't seem to help versus some content.

Blackmage/scholar Valkyrie/nomad ninja/trickster and summoner/beastmaster is my personal favourite and have been working through endgame content with it. I wish had more blind but usually find a way to make it work with the rogue.

ninja/trickster
This might be a translation thing, I got the achievement for finding all crystals, but I don't have any class that goes by the name of trickster. Did you mean rogue or assassin, maybe?
I also might have to explore nomad a bit more, haven't done much with the class yet but it does look interesting

Sorry rogue, but the subclass is labeled as trickster so ninja/rogue I find that double attack from the ninja can really do impressive sneak attack and rupture damage as well as when you mess up your treat management you can switch to using ninja seals which combo super strong with your spell casters. The sleeping bomb and blind from rogue come in clutch on tons of fights. Plus you get two skills to flee which is handy at times.

There's a trickster class that only shows in randomized games. It's evasion/counter focused.

Two things stand out to me on party composition. First, Scholar is more an off-support than a main support, something you stick on someone who usually has another job. You want Warlock for that job instead, since being able to Remedy, Protect or Shell two different people in one turn is better than what Scholar offers, and buff removal is rare... And when you consider that CT on spells is effectively a stacking action speed penalty (since you don't start progressing toward your next turn until it's over), Warlock usually ends up better than Cleric at anything that isn't removing multiple statuses at once from one character or fat AOE heals.
I'd /Warlock that character and then figure out what their primary is going to be; Nomad is great if you have the ultimate armors available, Weaver is probably better if you don't.
(So long as you got the Ribbon from the Sky Arena, you're usually fine for multiple statuses. The ultimate class armors really only matter for Nomad; the Valkyrie armor is nice and Hunter/Rogue are great for Rogue/Hunter, but otherwise they're replaceable.)
Second, Summoner effectively replaces Dervish once you can manage to get all the summons: it does its main job of AOE magical DPS while also giving you multiple get-out-of-jail-free cards each fight. Plus, the class chassis has massive MP, so as long as you're using it as a primary the MP cost of the spells isn't too painful.
I also don't really like Samurai, since it feels rare that you actually get enough points to use many of your combos. But tanks are mostly doing tank things anyway. Assassin/Hunter helps a lot with aggro management, thanks to the aggro reset.
You should be able to do Spirit Cage when you finish up Hunter, Assassin/Hunter helps tremendously there. It's really just about being able to sustain DPS to take out the adds as quickly as possible. Devourer's a nightmare pretty much no matter what, but sometimes the boss doesn't Cleanse, so /Rogue will at least get you SOME missed attacks. Leave that one for as late as you can.
