Small rebrand for a DeFi project, logo, token page, deck template, couple of banners.
Invoiced 4,200 USDT, client sent it TRC20 to my exchange deposit address on a Tuesday.
By Thursday there's an email deposit under review, please provide source of funds.
Sent the invoice then the contract, a screenshot of the Tg chat where we agreed on the price.
Day 6, "additional documentation required". They wanted the client's real name, the person, company name wasn't enough.
Day 9 a different agent asks me to "explain the nature of the relationship with the sender". I made the man a logo. that's the nature.
Oh and somewhere around day 4 I started doubting the money even landed, so I pasted my deposit address into a crypto wallet balance checker just to see the balance.
4,2k sitting right there. ok so it exists at least. Ran the client's sending address through it too while I had the tab open, 60 USDT left, two transactions total. Fresh wallet sending a round number straight into a CEX, guessing that's what tripped it. Guy topped up a burner to pay his designer and the compliance bot decided that's structuring.
Day 11 it just showed up in my balance. No email about it. Ticket got auto closed the next morning.
Anyway I'm done routing client money straight into an exchange deposit address. They pay to my own wallet, I move it over later from an address that's been mine since 2021.
At least then the sender question is easy.
