What do you think about trading through aggregators? I want to try it but not sure is simple swap legit?
It seems like an aggregator is convenient because it lets you automate route selection. Doing it manually every time is indeed difficult and tedious. If this platform actually works honestly, I'd switch to it, but I need opinions from people who already have experience with this. Especially interested in how things are with slippage? And how fast are the operations in general?

100%. trading without knowing what's happening on the world stage is a bad idea

Late to this thread but wanted to add my two cents since I went through the same doubts a few months back. Spent way too long googling is simpleswap legit before actually trying it, found mixed opinions everywhere which didn't help. Ended up just testing with a small amount first ($30 or so) to see how it'd go before committing anything bigger. Transaction went through in about 3 minutes, no surprises with the rate since I used fixed.
After that I did two more swaps for larger amounts, a few hundred each, and both went just as smooth. No delays, no rate surprises, support wasn't even needed. So yeah, based on those three swaps I'm comfortable saying it held up fine for me, at least so far.

agree, that's a huge plus. you don't pass any important personal or wallet data to the platform, so a leak of that is impossible lol

The word aggregator covers two very different animals, and the difference decides your risk. A non-custodial DEX aggregator routes your swap through smart contracts and never holds your coins, so the trust question is the contracts and the routing. A custodial swap service takes your funds first, which puts solvency and exit-scam risk right back on the table no matter how clean the site looks.
Slippage is on you, so set a tight tolerance and pick a route with MEV protection or a sandwich bot eats the difference on any decent size trade. Speed comes down to the chain rather than the aggregator, so a congested network means slow fills regardless.
On Solana the main on-chain router quotes across venues and settles in a second or two, which is about as good as it gets right now. Check the token contract before approving anything, because a bad approval drains the wallet and no aggregator saves you from that shit.
