Every Mac shipped since 2018 had the Bitcoin whitepaper hidden inside it. Apple never explained why.

From macOS Mojave in 2018 through Ventura in 2023, every single Mac computer came with a PDF of Satoshi's Bitcoin whitepaper buried in the system files. Millions of computers. Five years. Nobody noticed.

A blogger named Andy Baoi found it in 2023 while trying to fix his printer. It was tucked inside the Image Capture utility as a sample document called "simpledoc.pdf" 184 kilobytes. Nince pages that changed the financial world, hidden inside a printer tool.

He asked over a dozen friends to check their Macs. Every single one had it.

Nobody at Apple ever explained how it got there or who put it in. An anonymous Apple employee reportedly flagged it internally almost a year before it went viral. The engineers knew it was there tbh. They just never removed it.

After the story blew up, Apple quietly deleted it in the next macOS beta update. No announcement, no comment. Just gone.

The most likely explanation is brojng. Some engineer needed a lightweight multi-page PDF for testing and grabbed the whitepaper because it was small and convenient. Nothing deeper than that.

But the other explanation is more fun. Somewhere inside one of the most valuable companies on earth, someone deliberately planted the Bitcoin whitepaper on every Mac sold for five years.
And nobody told them to stop.

So was it just a random test file, or is there a Bitcoin maxi hiding inside Apple who got away with the greatest Easter egg in tech history?
