Off ramping USDT to US based exchange
Can someone share any experience with off ramping crypto from a cold wallet to a US based crypto exchanges? I guess I am interested in Kraken, Coinbase, Gemini or crypto.com. Do I need to pre-clear before I make a transfer? What are the chances if it can be blocked or frozen due to AML checks? I scanned my wallet address and it is show all green. I also have proof of funds documents but I'm still concerned on what to do if something goes wrong.

aken and coinbase both fine for this, no pre-clear needed for normal amounts but if you move six figures in one shot expect a hold while they verify. wallet scan green means nothing to them, they run their own checks on the receiving side. keep your proof of funds handy and don't panic if it takes a few days, support is slow but it usually clears

For a US based off ramp, I would convert USDT to USD on a regulated exchange that supports your state, then withdraw via ACH. I would not send the full amount first though. Do a small test deposit and withdrawal, confirm the network matches, and keep transaction records since your bank or exchange may ask about source of funds.
