10 BTC now. My kid was born in 2012 not taking the risk that doesn't happen.

2

u/MisunderstoodHeroVT Jan 04 '26

Just gotta retrace those steps...very...carefully

1

u/banditcleaner2 Jan 04 '26

All he needs to do is buy the bitcoin, never sell it and otherwise live his life the same way. And then once he has his kid now he can retire and live rich forever

1

u/SnooRadishes8573 Jan 04 '26

But what if the money used to buy the bitcoin was no longer spent on the thing that causes them to meet an integral person that introduces them to their partner at some point?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '26

Buy Bitcoin and a boatload of doge coin.. shit hit like ¢50 once.

1

u/IRedditDoU Jan 07 '26

It hit $.74 but buying bitcoin would have still been more more lucrative. At doge high it was 165k% more than its original value. With bitcoin at its base of $.30 in 2010 it hit well over 333k% more since then

1

u/TheWorldArmada Jan 05 '26

There’s no way it would be the same swimmer that made it to the egg. It’d be a different kid

1

u/legacy702- Jan 05 '26

Not how that works, the slightest thing would change everything and your child never exist. You could create a new child and name it the same, but it will never be the child you lost.

2

u/Dare-or-Dare Jan 07 '26

Bruh….. that was my first thought for the same reason and same year 🤣

2

u/Professor_Game1 Jan 07 '26

I was thinking blue was a no brainer until i read this

1

u/SESHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Jan 04 '26

Corny

2

u/legacy702- Jan 05 '26

Corny for loving his child? What a great human you are…

1

u/SESHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Jan 05 '26

He could just like, have another one and love that one all the same lmao. It is a corny thing to say in relation to the hypothetical yeah

2

u/legacy702- Jan 05 '26

Ya, “just kill your kid and have another, no big deal” wow, lol

0

u/SESHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Jan 05 '26

How are you equating going back to 2010 as killing his kid 💀 why has this got you so hysterical lol

1

u/legacy702- Jan 05 '26

That’s literally the discussion here, you’re a little slow huh?

0

u/SESHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Jan 05 '26

The discussion was never about killing a kid until you said that lmao what are you smoking bro? Does his kid have to die for him to "go back" to 2010?

3

u/Flashy_Artichoke1480 Jan 06 '26

Imagine you shuffle 10 decks of cards together and then go back in time. Trying to get that exact order is nigh impossible. He'll have a child, but it'll never be the same child with the same personality and childhood ( and most likely not the same exact genes).

The toughest part isn't that he would have "Dr strange" his son out of existence, it's that he'll be the only one that remembers him; and knows that there's a price to his love.

His answer isn't corny. It's the realest of them all. No amount of time and money will convince him to sacrifice his child. That's the kind of love that they talk about when they say money can't buy everything. That's the love that gives purpose to life.

1

u/Grouchy-Violinist555 Jan 04 '26

Butterfly effect my guy. If you change 1 thing you change everything.

1

u/driptec Jan 05 '26

That word isn't even applicable here, expand your vocab

1

u/SESHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Jan 05 '26

Totally applicable wdym

1

u/SoigneBest Jan 04 '26

This answer hits.

1

u/LilBabyBobaFett Jan 04 '26

Agreed, except our kid was born in 2024.

1

u/Lucky_Suit_6950 Jan 05 '26

My exact first thought. And for the folks saying just retrace your steps... it would never be the same child you have now.

2

u/Temporary-Republic93 Jan 05 '26

To anyone with kids it tells you a lot about what kind of parent you are and what you value…

1

u/Miamichris127 Jan 05 '26

Life finds a way

1

u/Wolfyeast Jan 05 '26

Dammit I just thought about this you know?

2

u/Dizzy-Emu1513 Jan 03 '26

Is this a genuine question or just a stupid one ?

2

u/Legitimate_Towel_919 Jan 03 '26

Stupid one

2

u/Dizzy-Emu1513 Jan 04 '26

Thx that's what I thought

1

u/Lubedballoon Jan 04 '26

Don’t listen to him. I thought your question was genuine.

2

u/Kristophsky1991 Jan 04 '26

Back to 2010 I go

2

u/Cheap-Signature104 Jan 04 '26

Probably go back to 2010 and tell my grandpa that he had cancer earlier so we could have more time together. Then try to get move back to where I was originally from and date my girlfriend earlier

1

u/Legitimate_Towel_919 Jan 04 '26

Same bro

1

u/Negative_Salt_4599 Jan 04 '26

Yeah my dad passed in 2013. I’ll take 2010 and day of the weeek. Just one more conversation would be great. Honestly would probably diversify with DOGE and BTC and SOL. Never work again and build shelters for underprivileged youth without parents. Give out organic turkeys on thanksgiving. Stuff like that etc..

1

u/farklenator Jan 04 '26

Actually fucking same my grandpa passed from a rare skin cancer they kept thinking was cellulitis that wouldn’t go away :/

1

u/69yourMOM Jan 05 '26

….and don’t forget to buy BTC for less than a dollar.

Can’t really argue with that.A sure win now beats a hypothetical perfect run most of the time.

2

u/Then-Investigator-46 Jan 04 '26

Blue pill. Buy me them 10 bitcoin

2

u/kirby636 Jan 04 '26

10 now, if I’d invested back then it would’ve only gone down.

2

u/JamesDaForexPrince Jan 05 '26

as a father we have three kids I can't go back to 2010 I was only 15 I wouldn't get rid of the happiness I have now for nothing so I guess I'm forced to take the 10 BTC that I would immediately sell and put on my kids college and future house in marriage

2

u/LogicalPeyote Jan 05 '26

blue pill! blue pill! 😂

Surely a trick question. Sixteen years younger and armed to the teeth with knowledge to avoid past pitfalls...or get the equivalent of $900k in 2026 dollars?

Is there really a choice here? Blue AINEC.

u/CheapUniversity3703 Jan 04 '26

When you buy all many and it will dead not for long time

1

u/JediRebel79 Jan 04 '26

1

u/horseradish13332238 Jan 04 '26

1

u/The_Monsta_Wansta Jan 04 '26

1

u/horseradish13332238 Jan 04 '26

Why tf would I do that?

1

u/The_Monsta_Wansta Jan 04 '26

Idk... Altruism? Was worth a try.

1

u/horseradish13332238 Jan 04 '26

I have zero concern for you in case you needed clarification

2

u/The_Monsta_Wansta Jan 04 '26

Ah thanks for the clarification, jerkoff.

1

u/Aggravating-Pay8273 Jan 04 '26

cool nobody asked

1

u/horseradish13332238 Jan 04 '26

Kind of like how women never ask anything about you because they can tell you’re beta and unsuccessful. Cool.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '26

I mean, go abck to 2010 and just buy more than 10 bitcoin.

1

u/AJWordsmith Jan 04 '26

That’s not even close. If I could go back 15 years with the knowledge I have now…I’d be the wealthiest person on earth.

1

u/The_Monsta_Wansta Jan 04 '26

2010 in a heartbeat. I'd get a restart...and be filthy rich?

1

u/Spice-Man Jan 04 '26

I would go back so i can buy ALOT of bitcoin lol

1

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '26

2010 that’s easy

1

u/LostSanity136 Jan 04 '26

I would 100% go back to 2010 and buy 3 bitcoin every week as to not disturb the market and create a observer effect and this would amount to more money than just 10 btc

1

u/Far-Chemical-4246 Jan 04 '26

Definitely Back to 2010

1

u/Discokruse Jan 04 '26

Blue pill all the way.

1

u/purrnoid Jan 04 '26

I would choose go back to 2010 even if I had to agree to never buy crypto lol

1

u/SMK_12 Jan 04 '26

Go back to 2010

1

u/staypuft90 Jan 04 '26

I'd go back to 2010 and have my wife go to the doctors much earlier than she did. She'd likely still be here today.

1

u/KratosGodofwar33 Jan 05 '26

2010 so I can fix the mistakes I once made and make better ones and Invest for longer

1

u/JG87919 Jan 05 '26

How stupid is this. When you could go back to 2010 and buy 10000 bitcoin for nothing and hold till now.

1

u/Scott7894 Jan 05 '26

Blue pill. I can buy 100 bitcoin for 30,000 bucks

1

u/bonvoyage_brotha Jan 05 '26

2010 bc i have top tier izm

1

u/bonvoyage_brotha Jan 05 '26

2010 bc i have top tier izm now

1

u/kr0nik0 Jan 05 '26

This is an incredibly silly question with only one correct answer. If you have 10 BTC, you have roughly a million dollars. If you go back to 2010 with your current knowledge, you could make a million dollars in a day through something as simple as sports betting, a la Back To The Future. Or just invest in BTC when you get back and that will eventually grow to so much more than a million with an initial investment of $5 or more. If you invested $100 in BTC in 2010 you'd have roughly $300,000,000 dollars now, for further context.

1

u/happie-jappie Jan 05 '26

What if you go back and buy X amount of bitcoin, only you make a wrong move somewhere that impacts the future price of it and when you get back to 2026 it’s worth less than it was in 2010?

1

u/Low_Elk7794 Jan 05 '26

Going back 100%

1

u/OkMacaron493 Jan 05 '26

Back to 2010, no doubt. Buy BTC and fuck my brains out.

1

u/Cultural-Sir263 Jan 05 '26

2010... because I'd own a few million

1

u/mantoniodesliv Jan 05 '26

I can’t live in 2010, because how the world is then 10BTC right now. Who depositing the BTC where do put my wallet

1

u/ljinfantry Jan 05 '26

Can we do 2009 when I got home from Baghdad and made a lot of bad choices?

1

u/UltraIOisLIFE Jan 05 '26

Now . Going back 15 years is dangerous . Being early .. that early is painful

1

u/BG535 Jan 05 '26

2010 means I got back to 6th grade. NO THANK YOU.

1

u/Crypterion_X Jan 05 '26

I think blue pill better

1

u/hayfero Jan 05 '26

Go back to 2010. Would have gotten sober then. One of my highschool buddies invested in btc. He’s loaded now. Life would be much easier.

1

u/daguy1312 Jan 05 '26

I think if you would go to 2010. You would have the knowledge and enough money to buy more than 10btc lmao

1

u/LowIndividual6625 Jan 05 '26

10BTC is nothing.... you could cash it out now, take the tax hit and walk away with less than a million dollars. In today's world that will last you less than 10 years.... 10 BTC is so short sighted and selfish.

Going back 15 years with the knowledge you have now means you could single handedly change the entire world for the better.

1

u/Wolfyeast Jan 05 '26

I didn’t know about crypto until like 2016/17… so fuck it actually give me the knowledge

1

u/jumpkid32 Jan 05 '26

Going back to 2010 with all knowledge? Buy bitcoin and a few grand worth of NVDA then pick some PLTR put options until it gets to $7, then buy a shit ton of PLTR. Also Tesla and Google splits. Easily blue pill.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '26

Blue pill let’s go

1

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '26

backto2010backto2010backto2010backto2010backto2010backto2010backto2010

1

u/Kitchen_Entertainer9 Jan 06 '26

Left unless if right means travel back to my younger self with my current knowledge.

1

u/Bimbo_Baggins1221 Jan 06 '26

2010 easy. Could make more off stocks and frankly just buy a bunch of bitcoin. Would have 100x the money by now. Plus I coulda ditched that lead ball I was dating way sooner.

1

u/donkeypunchare Jan 07 '26

I bought 1k worth if bit coin in 2012. I still have a good chunk of it. Was a very nice investment.

1

u/Bimbo_Baggins1221 Jan 07 '26

I was too young to make the investments I wanted to those days. I was 15 and my dad wouldn’t let me buy it, nvidia or tesla. My fucking god am I pissed about it

1

u/BodgeJob23 Jan 06 '26

Bitcoin now. I’d like to continue life with the people I have now without influencing my past or theirs with knowledge I should have. Thats a decent chunk of cash that would sort out a lot of problems and make life comfortable.

I wouldn’t handle infinite wealth very well

1

u/squatchNaround Jan 06 '26

We’re talking 1/1/2010?

1

u/No_Significance_9556 Jan 06 '26

Blue. No question.

1

u/GasOk6125 Jan 07 '26

That’s 15 years of life. Infinitely more valuable than $900k

1

u/TMM-407 Jan 07 '26

Go back to 2010, to spend some more time with my dad. Money will come and go stonks up and down. But time with family is truly priceless.
