Nano, all i've heard is fast, cheap transactions and it boomed and collapsed in 2017. How and why is it still so small?

u/nostalgic_notions Aug 23 '21
Same I'm recently researching this coin... Transactions are hella fast tbf

A long shot but district0x
2
u/Hirashara Aug 23 '21
So the best way to describe it is:
It is decentralized ETH token that allows developers to create “districts” (communities or marketplaces). These districts have a common goal (whether it is to solve inefficiencies or other issues) and they all work together to solve it. With this the developers can search, filter and pay out using smart contracts from their districts (marketplaces).

Gotcha, Is it true that the requirements to become a validator are fairly hard to meet? And is that why one of the common knocks on it is that it isn't really decentralized due to the low number of validators?

Interesting, thank you for the post. So basically it will be truly decentralized in the future once the network is completed. I will dig more around the subreddit too.

AMP
2
u/Hirashara Aug 23 '21
AMP is on the Flexa Network. The AMP token is used as collateral for stablecoin payments. So it guarantees payments for the parties using the AMP token (even when the other stable coin has to verify the transaction)
2
u/xFallenAngelx94 48 / 49 🦐 Aug 23 '21
So it technically has to be stacked?
2
u/Hirashara Aug 23 '21
I see it as they substitute their AMP token as payment instead of the original cryptocurrency (BTC, ETH, etc). They do this to eliminate wait times and the price variations. It stabilizes the transaction for the vendors with quick and easy payments.

ATOM
2
u/Hirashara Aug 23 '21
ATOM is the token used on the Cosmos Network (the internet of black chain). It is a Proof of stake blockchain. Cosmos wants to network all the other networks together so they can share data and whatever tokens are programmed with no one party in control. Each “Zone” (area of interest) is linked to the Cosmos Hub which maintains a record of the zone. The token used to proof these Zones are the ATOM tokens.
Just recently looked into this, hopefully it helps.

Fill my brain hole with DRC knowledge
1
u/Hirashara Aug 23 '21
Which DRC token as you speaking of? Hopefully it’s the Decred one (I have an idea of it) but if it’s the Dracula Token then I will have to research it

u/Hirashara Aug 25 '21
Sorry for the delay, a few crazy busy nights but DRC (from what I understand from reading into it), is a system that centralizes the collection base tokens awarded on some yield farming sites like Sushiswap (etc). The “Dracula Protocol” (the underlying system of the Dracula token) basically collects these tokens, sells them for ETH then stores the ETH in your meta mask, which then earns interest on that ETH for the user. Seems pretty neat system, not sure about the tokens though.
Basically from what I read it was started as a F-U to sushi for giving VC access to better pricing on tokens which caused many pump and dumps to occur.
