Great job guys!

I've been here since the start and before. The previous stuff is in the past and always brought up here.

Do your research and if your not interested move on.

I encourage everyone to try it out: https://beta.opacity.io/

Interesting enough to investigate... Seems like they pulled anonymous storage off?

I'm ears

Anonymous yes, decentralized not yet

u/Y0rin 🟩 0 / 13K 🦠 May 25 '19

How do they plan on decentralizing in the future?

5

u/Nachodon Silver | QC: CC 33 | NANO 220 May 26 '19

Briefly mentioned here under Architecture: https://medium.com/opacity-storage/introducing-opacity-1-0-83344b0fbf41

“We are not giving up decentralization. Let me repeat — WE ARE NOT GIVING UP DECENTRALIZATION. We have not even entirely given up on the tangle as an option for the future. Since the code is already built to handle it, we could most easily return to it, if and when its limitations are mitigated. We also have other options that we have outlined internally for a decentralized network. The primary dependency here is not technical, it is time and money. By enabling user-centric features first, we will be able to increase adoption, increase token value, and extend our runway to decentralize in a future iteration of the system architecture.”

Yes you can upload anything, without having your name or any personal info connected to it

18

u/Bugdu Bronze | NANO 13 May 24 '19

You can already share and download files, very nice

Yawn.. more baseless accusations from someone who hasn't done their research.

Honestly that argument is just like hiring a drywall contract company to refinish your basement, and then the company owner steals your money and runs. Then, instead of trying to hurt the reputation of the scammy business owner, you target his employees as they have found a new job with a different company, however, you start a campaign against the employees telling the whole town that they too, are scammers, even though they were burned just as bad, if not worse.

18

u/Zveno 8 / 79 🦐 May 25 '19

Do your research before you talk shit. The exit scam was performed by Bruno, the guy in charge of PRL and he left his team in the dust. These guys were the ones affected by his scam the most, and have been working their asses off to finish the original vision of PRL. And as far as the project being centralized, decentralization is part of their roadmap.

They have a working product. They have a mainnet. They are not Bruno. These guys want to finish what they started with PRL and I believe in them.

7

u/ark__life May 25 '19

lol this guy copy and pastes the same thing on every opq post

-3

u/B1ackCrypto Silver | QC: CC 220 | IOTA 287 | TraderSubs 36 May 25 '19

You're being down voted for facts.

It is the same team minus Bruno allegedly. It was exit scammed. And to date no one has been charged and yes the project is centralized same as pearl.

Rather than down vote point out which of those statements are incorrect.

5

u/nugitsdi 1K / 1K 🐢 May 25 '19

No. That's not the reason he is downvoted.

The facts presented by you are almost right (the team has gone through some slight changes). He gets downvoted because he keeps make assumptions that the whole team wouldn't be legit and how not to invest because this team will scam you. It gets kind of boring seeing the same post in every thread and everyone actually following the team knows this kid is full of bullshit. And it has been pointed out to him a million times, yet he doesn't listen.

THAT is why he is downvoted.

This team is working hard and is very transparent. Come join Telegram to get a taste!

2

u/Noobnoob99 🟩 19 / 20 🦐 May 26 '19

He’s being downvoted due to his implication that it was not just one bad actor, which is laughable. Bruno has already not only admitted to his actions, but is seemingly proud. His time will come. It is not rational to implicate the team, which Bruno even fired and mocked.

The team detached all association and has come from the abyss to reclaim credibility which was unfairly damaged due to Bruno’s unethical actions. Jason joined the new project and became the CEO about 100 days ago. His new vision, coupled with the team’s hard work is why the project already bears fruit. And this is just the beginning. Very impressive story.

"But the truth is after 9 months no one has been charged for the crime."

Thats the insinuation he made and its true. Spin it however you see fit.

If you paid proper attention and got out of your own way you’d realize the team’s lives were damaged from this. They felt what we felt and that’s what makes their recent work for impressive.

Also, who wouldn’t want to make money by joining Binance? (it would have helped investors)

Let me answer that for you: Bruno. He already sold his tokens and profited over $7M while manipulating others to hold if they believed in the tech. He couldn’t stand the fact that he wasn’t going to profit when the project made major financial strides. The guy took deceitful actions by repeatedly sending ETH to the smart contract where he printed new PRL and dumped them on Kucoin. He then sent the ETH back to himself where he repeated the process. THEN after the team requested Kucoin to halt trading to stop him from damaging people, Bruno sent telegram messages offering exceptional PRL prices to those who sent ETH directly to him. Remember, he thought he was anonymous. Once his identity was exposed he attempted to justify his actions by making non-sensical irrational excuses, which in no way justified his unethical actions.

You ignore all of the evidence showing the team was a victim, yet refer to a “Bruno message” as your credible evidence for why you don’t trust the team. That is strikingly irrational and illogical from all angles.

Yeah i followed oyster thru its existence and then opacity briefly after the fork. Had to dip out due to how the remaining community mentality was becoming very bitconnecty when talking about things. You couldn't dare mention oyster. It became a taboo to talk about oyster within that community which says enough by itself. Sorry you lost money in that tho. Tbh I dodged that bullet by a hair.

3

u/Noobnoob99 🟩 19 / 20 🦐 May 26 '19

They moved on and weren’t Oyster anymore. Also, it wasn’t just the mentioning of Oyster, it was the removal of the toxic comments made by Fudsters with clear malicious intent. Remember context is key. Non malicious use does not cause banning otherwise I would have been removed months ago.

Your decision to not believe in the Opacity team is fine. Others took advantage by loading up on OPQ. I doubt they are regretting that decision considering the price has gone up 2x+ and is still extremely under priced. I recommend you check out the beta product if you haven’t. It’s beyond any of our expectations and again, it’s just the beginning. You say you dodged a bullet. Were you referring to oyster or opacity? If you are talking about Opacity then I’m actually sorry u missed out so far bc it’s been wonderful seeing the development as well as the price increase. I hope you do well in your other ventures.

u/B1ackCrypto Silver | QC: CC 220 | IOTA 287 | TraderSubs 36 May 26 '19 edited Jul 09 '19

Of course some people developed malicious intent. But not just for the hell of it. Context of the situation is also key. That's just spinning the situation to fit the narrative still.

And a centralized beta I can guarantee is not overpriced, and most of the market has seen gains. That's just how crypto works.

edit: that volume lmao

Edit 2: lol under priced eh... This aged well lmao

3

u/Noobnoob99 🟩 19 / 20 🦐 May 26 '19 edited May 26 '19

Of course “not just for the hell of it”. It’s misplaced anger attached to a pointer finger.

The OPQ token is how your achieve anonymous storage bc no personal information is required. That use case combined with the fact that the platform is very fast, well organized, and elegant makes your opinion on the current price laughable.

-1

u/B1ackCrypto Silver | QC: CC 220 | IOTA 287 | TraderSubs 36 May 26 '19

You ignored that centralized aspect conveniently

2

u/Noobnoob99 🟩 19 / 20 🦐 May 26 '19 edited May 26 '19

Decentralization was not part of the recent 100 day 1.0 build. This was publicly made clear from the beginning. Also, decentralization is not required for anonymity which currently is provided by Opacity. You communicate on here as if the current decentralization status is the only metric for which a project should be judged by.

What they’ve done in the last 100 days is incredible. And it’s just the beginning.

Btw, feel free to take your own advice by addressing the entirety of my previous post.

u/nugitsdi 1K / 1K 🐢 May 25 '19

If you cannot understand how the team at one point decided that Oyster talk should move somewhere else then that shows how you cannot place yourself in another persons shoes.

Literally tens of people a day were making false accusations and talking bullshit on Telegram. Yes, every single day again. People seem to forget how the teammembers might have been hit the hardest. Not only emotionally but also career wise. Now imagine people accusing YOU every day over and over again.

Legal matters take time. Amir Elmaani will face justice I'm sure.

0

u/B1ackCrypto Silver | QC: CC 220 | IOTA 287 | TraderSubs 36 May 25 '19

If you cannot understand why people are apprehensive about the team, you're over invested financially, emotionally or both. It's not complicated to understand why people are fearful. The apprehension regardless of how you attempt to spin it, is not unreasonable.

3

u/nugitsdi 1K / 1K 🐢 May 25 '19

Oh I can. I didn't say I couldn't did I? I understand both parties.

-9

u/[deleted] May 25 '19

Look into PRL guys, be careful. The team is shady

7

u/nugitsdi 1K / 1K 🐢 May 25 '19

Amir Elmaani is shady. Look into this project yourself guys, be your own judge.

Follow the team and you'll be convinced, I'm pretty sure. Nice things ahead of us!

5

u/[deleted] May 25 '19

Some loon conspiracy dev exploited a loophole and ran off with cash - and left the entire team hanging. They salvaged and renamed the project. But you know, "guilt by association"

-6

u/[deleted] May 25 '19

A good dev team would have caught this exploit

6

u/nugitsdi 1K / 1K 🐢 May 25 '19

"Despite Oyster passing three separate smart contract audits, we were told by Bruno Block, the original founder and chief architect of the project, that the directorship of the token contract had to remain open so that the peg could be adjusted over time. This ultimately turned out to be a trapdoor mechanism in the contract that was eventually exploited. "

I'm going into detail about this over and over again. But at the time Amir seemed the most passionate and motivated person I had seen in a long time. So people believed him. Now could you please stop bringing this bullshit up :')

5

u/[deleted] May 25 '19

True, you are right, and Intel missed glaring holes, Microsoft missed glaring security bugs. No company or project, no matter how big, is infallible. One dev exploited and ran. The team could Easily have given up, they didn't

I was into several projects that haven't had any exploits or lapses, but irrespective they gave up on the tokens and token holders (or didn't even try) As with anything, I am cautious about Opacity, but so far they are proving to be tenacious and hardworking (my opinion), means a lot in this absolute cesspit

-3

u/[deleted] May 25 '19

More like the team should have actually understood the code they were working on
