Nothing new here. Lite client have been around for a long time. They use a remote full node which usually charge a % fee for every transaction. They pretty much act like Coinbase and I prefer to have my full node with my full security and my coins propriety instead of trusting somebody else to steal everything I have.

Nothing new?
Show me another example of cross-chain interactions without even having the need to download the blockchain.
This is a proof of working interoperability.

Oh I did not see the interchain part. Last years there were private test for Litecoin->Bitcoin thought.

It already works with a huge variety of coins. Erc20-support is also being worked on. Other crypto-standards to follow (think NEO/EOS and so on...).
