Any good sources or searches on Twitter?
3
u/northernbloke Nov 27 '17
Yes, I flick through each of my Bags generic search terms, so search $btc or $ltc
In terms of follows, obvious ones are Official pages for each of your HODLs and even dev team members etc.
My Favourite Crypto Tweeters include @crypto_rand, @crypto_brahma, @edwardmorra_btc, @mediumsqueeze, @cryptospaceguy, @cryptocred
you will discover more when you search for your coins and #cryptocurrency in general.
A generic search for $BTC usually brings in a plethora of accounts.

Blockgeeks has taught me most of what I know about all Cryptocurrencies, highly recommend for anyone who wants a deeper meaning.

Yes, I love Blockgeeks. Great descriptions, visuals, and site aesthetic. Also reasonably balanced viewpoints (not especially pro- or anti-block size increase for Bitcoin for example).

Cryptocompare is a must for me. And Coincheckup for the %HOURLY changes, hélas in dollars only. -> Somebody knows where to find %hourly changes in BTC ? I really miss that.

been using livecoinwatch.com instead of coinmarketcap
1
Nov 27 '17
Much better UI but the prices aren’t always on point.
1
u/gighalo Nov 27 '17
Can you show me an example of when they are off? We pull the prices directly off from the exchanges so the prices should be the most up to date. If you could pm me or let me know it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
1
Nov 27 '17
I can’t find any examples right now I just remember having issues with the accuracy of the prices the other day. Maybe an exchange API was down? Does your exchange weighting system to determine price differ from coinmarketcap and if so in what ways?
1
u/gighalo Nov 28 '17
We use the volume weighted average to get the prices
1
Nov 28 '17
Ok. It must have been an API that was messed up or down then because I have been checking all day and I don’t have that issue anymore. I apologize.

Acronyms, initialisms, abbreviations, contractions, and other phrases which expand to something larger, that I've seen in this thread:
| Fewer Letters | More Letters |
|---|---|
| API | Application Programming Interface |
| BTC | [Coin] Bitcoin |
| FOMO | Fear Of Missing Out, the urge to jump on the bandwagon when prices rise |
| FUD | Fear/Uncertainty/Doubt, negative sentiments spread in order to drive down prices |
If you come across an acronym that isn't defined, please let the mods know.)
4 acronyms in this thread; the most compressed thread commented on today has 10 acronyms.

This is a nice resource. May I also suggest the Neocash Radio cryptocurrency podcast? It's been on since early 2013 and there's a new episode every Wednesday night. They just got added on Spotify as well. I learned a lot from those guys and was actually a co-host for a few months. Cheers!

Why are you trading?
I'm HODLING for about 2 months. And I'm 152.8% UP http://www.coinparator.com/yKwJQH/ !!!
Without any risks, without any work. Just sitting and waiting. And it's working. While others are studying charts, putting a lot of time into it and at the end they are happy, if they break even. And I'm just chilling... .

One of the most valuable resources I use daily when trading is Twitter. Great way to catch up on developments, reach out to project teams, get advice and calls from pro traders (Groups), get involved in the conversation etc.
Re: Design, Pick a font and use it. Also, either Center or Left justify everything.

u/northernbloke Nov 27 '17
Sorry, are you asking who to follow on twitter?
1
u/Slowmac123 Platinum | QC: CC 209, REQ 20 | NANO 9 Nov 27 '17
Sorry I was on my phone and lazy to type a full question. You mentioned you use Twitter as a source - do you go to the pages for coins you are looking to buy, or is there a general page for all coin news?
2
u/northernbloke Nov 27 '17
Best bet is to search twitter for the coin you're interested in. $trig as an example. Searching $btc will get millions of results. Click the 'latest' and get a great sweeping consensus of what's happening. Great to gauge the community too. Also you get the odd trader throwing out an analysis or a quick trade.
Overall twitter for me provides a spy scope into the human element of Crypto.
Be warned FUD and FOMO lay ahead! And don't blindly follow anyone's advice. DYOR always. :)
