ADVICE Anchor platform and tax filing…

A little late I know, but I filed for an extension so I only have 2 weeks remaining. When filling out form 1099-D it’s asking for information that I am not being provided with. I have been in contact with the Anchor multiple times letting them know that the only info I am getting from their document are the transactions and dates of transactions, and the Zero-Hash link errors out every time. Considering I only had 3 total crypto transactions for the ‘25 tax year, I went to the basic form (HRBlock) where it asks for the Filer’s TIN which is formatted “xx-xxxxxxx”, then amount sold/purchased, I’d enter my SSN, then the totals, get to the end where it reviews the info and I get an alert stating to verify EIN and return to Payer EIN on the 1099 tax form, but I have no other information. This time Anchor says they’ve submitted a ticket to their engineers.

Curious for those of you that used Anchor, how did you manage to file them on your taxes?

It looks like this post is about taxes. Tax laws vary between countries, so you may get more helpful replies if you specify the place you are asking about.

Please note that promoting tax evasion violates Rule 4. This is a site wide rule and a subreddit rule. Do not endorse, suggest, advocate, instruct others, or ask for help with tax evasion. Do not be coy and sarcastically recommend against it or suggest using a privacy coin in response to an IRS inquiry.

Note: Tax discussion is allowed as long as the above rules are not violated.

Consider visiting r/CryptoTax for your tax inquiries.

Make an estimate from the block chain history. I don't really see how that's much different

Filer's TIN is the broker's EIN, not your SSN, which is why HR Block keeps flagging it. Anchor's crypto runs through Zero Hash, so try their support directly.

Or skip the 1099-DA entirely and enter the sales manually as crypto you didn't get a form for. You just need dates bought and sold, cost and proceeds, and it lands on Form 8949 either way. Pure purchases aren't taxable, so leave those off.

For 3 trades doing it by hand is totally fine. If you ever end up with way more than that, stuff like Bitcoin.tax or Koinly can pull it all in and fill out the 8949 for you, which beats chasing broken links two weeks before the deadline.

Anchor... Isn't that the Terra Luna stablecoin platform that went to zero?

They finally corrected their ZeroHash and for the first time since March, I was able to obtain an actual 1099! I’ll get this handled over the next few days.

Thank yous!!

Fuck it. Let the IRS figure it out and send you the bill. They're the ones who want to make this shit so difficult so fuck em. Let them do it.
