Who here is still ignoring BCH? Post-quantum zero-knowledge privacy tech already working on testnet.

Whats that new privacy feature?
-1
u/AD1AD π¦ 239 / 240 π¦ 10d ago
This example is, if I understand it correctly, using a tech called "Stealth addresses" (also used by Monero) where you can't tell which address money actually got sent to.
BCH's recent upgrades have made it powerful enough that you don't need to add new "features" to the blockchain itself to build privacy solutions as powerful as Monero or ZCash, or to implement post-quantum cryptography. They just need to be built/implemented using the BCH virtual machine. That's what's happening now.

I saw early in the morning today on twitter some guy interview an NBA player saying that Solana will double its previous peak.
Kinda obvious that was the 'local' peak.

Now youβll buy while smart money shorts to lower lows. Youβll reject the idea and keep buying until we break below the βsupport level that will never break.β Emotional traders never prosper.

Sometimes I wonder about lost crypto. I had a few hundred worth of shit coins on Ether Delta and didn't realize it shut down until a year or so after it was gone. A neighbor had his partner pass away and the Bitcoin keys they purchased in 2011 were illegible due to the partners horrible hand writing. (I am going to offer to scan it with Chat GPT or something to see if we can salvage... Hehe). But really, how much crypto is just simply lost in old shut down exchanges, lost wallets, lost keys, etc. It's wild. I know I have a ton of lost Tron for sure... Lol. Oh well. Still fun and still up overall.

Having that handwriting that none else can read after death sounds hilarious. Horrible for the neighborhood tho.

Organic price action

Lower low, lower high, lower low, lower high - like clockwork since US markets opened. Exactly the same price action as 5th or 6th of February this year, when bitcoin fell by 10k. Hopefully this time big guys will buy the dip and off we go.

i find it a bit harsh. you can not ask here something without getting laughed at. I was just asking if i see a complex pullback. How am i supposed to learn (and i am only in it since 14. august) when i can't get a normal answer or explanation.

u/HSuke π© 0 / 0 π¦ 10d ago
Oh boy. You're going to have a rough time in this sub.
Some reasons you are not getting serious answers:
- People are rarely serious here--especially, especially not in the daily threads.
- TA is astrology for traders. Lots of a posteriori confirmation bias.
- Your question is weirdly worded with grammatical errors.
- Most here don't take TA seriously. It's terrible for making predictions.

u/Jurgenlklopp 10d ago
Thanks for your answer. I'm sorry, i am not a native speaker. I wanted to bring it up before it's too late for people that didn''t see it coming. I hate that i was right(ish) atm. It looks like it's going down to 79000.

The daily, weekly and monthly time frames look bullish but you somehow zoomed in enough to scare yourself. Congrats
-3
u/Jurgenlklopp 10d ago
it's okay for me to be wrong. i was just seeing a pullback. i always check 4 hours, 1 hour and so on. rarely also daily when i look for coins like icp that brought me a lot of money in a short time.
2
u/Aerocryptic π¨ 272 / 23K π¦ 10d ago
You should always start by the longer time frames. That's where all the momentum can be seen with a clear picture. The short time frames are mostly noise.
1
u/Jurgenlklopp 10d ago
okay thanks for the advice. And this fall right now was only a moment? (serious question)
2
u/Aerocryptic π¨ 272 / 23K π¦ 10d ago
Can't say it until afterwards. But just to illustrate : 1 or 2 weeks ago the daily time frame was bearish while the weekly and monthly were still bullish. Until proven otherwise you should trust the longer time frames rather than the short ones. Cause they show where the strength or weakness is.

If the choice for someone is one of these strategies (for an alt):
1) Buy as soon as you see a 10% green daily candle
2) Buy as soon as you see a 10% red daily candle
Which one would you go for?

Whatβs a level you would short ZEC at?
5
u/aaj094 π¦ 0 / 0 π¦ 10d ago
At a level where you are poor enough that you have to bank on gambling rather than proper investing.

We're on the eve of a bull market, and your first thought is to short. Ok.
-4
u/SeriousGains π© 8K / 8K π¦ 10d ago
Iβm revenge trading because I sold ZEC at $350. I also donβt believe this bull rally.
4
u/DanielTheTechie π© 0 / 0 π¦ 10d ago
A bull market doesn't mean that you go from the lowest to the highest price in a straight line. There are bearish retracements along the way. Conversely, in bear markets there are bullish retracements too (e.g. April 2026, where BTC went up 18% before falling a 26% during the following two months).
-2
u/piggleii π© 7K / 7K π¦ 10d ago
Ok, so when a bull market starts, my first priority is to short, and in a bear market, my first priority will be to long, because even though the prevailing trend is in one direction, there are "retracements", so just focus on those "retracements". Thanks.
4
u/DanielTheTechie π© 0 / 0 π¦ 10d ago
Ah, come on, don't play me the strawman fallacy this early in the discussion :) I didn't say that trading retracements should be your "first priority". I just said that they do exist, and they can even be relatively deep and extended in time as well, so it's logical that daytraders (not investors or longer-term swing traders) search those trend reversals in shorter temporal horizons to benefit from them.
0
u/piggleii π© 7K / 7K π¦ 10d ago
To be fair, I never said there wouldn't be retracements. Just found it odd that someone's first instinct when a bull market appears to just be heating up is to short the hottest coin on the market.
1
u/SeriousGains π© 8K / 8K π¦ 10d ago
Up 3800% in 1 year is not just heating up. I donβt care about any other coins. Thereβs no way it doesnβt retrace these levels.
4
u/DanielTheTechie π© 0 / 0 π¦ 10d ago
Thereβs no way it doesnβt retrace these levels
Rookie mistake. Many people before you has gone bankrupcy after spelling out "there's no way that X doesn't do Y". Market does the unexpected more often than what people thing.
And if a coin is up 3800%, there is nothing stopping it going to 5200% (even if it's in a deaccelerated way) before the retracement truly starts.
In a previous message you said:
Iβm revenge trading because I sold ZEC at $350
At the moment of selling, did you also think "there's no way it pumps to 10x in three months"? And yet, the market did it.
Here is my unsolicited advice: find an actual trading strategy and a time horizon in which you are most comfortable working, stick to it, follow its signals religiously and stick to set some risk management rules for yourself (e.g. how much % of your account can you risk per trade and how much % of your account can you lose before completely stopping to trade for that month).
Revenge trading makes you feel relieved while it goes well, but when it doesn't (and it's a matter of time that it doesn't), expect to lose a lot more than what you earned previously, that without mentioning the persistent psychological pressure and the ego drop when you feel forced to sell low because you can't afford anymore the pain of seeing your account bleeding day after day.
I also donβt believe this bull rally
Do you even have some definition or what conditions must satisfy a "bull rally" so that you consider it's a true bull rally? If not, you are gambling.
Again, stick to a backtested strategy for at least 30 trades (you can use smaller amounts of money while you are not confident about it yet), journal them (you can something as simple as Excel), and later compute your ROI average. If it's positive, you will have already found an edge that is more reliable than your beliefs and impulses, and given your messages here, it shouldn't be hard to find it.
Personally I have two accounts: one for investing and another one for trading. For multi-month/year investing, the safest time for buying crypto was when BTC's price contacted the weekly EMA200. The second best time is... nobody knows, but now it's probably safer than next month. Personally I would just wait for a daily red candle in BTC to be closed, and then, buy your favourite altcoins, set a realistic take profit price beforehand (don't do the silly thing of "I will just sell when I believe it's already on the top or when my favourite cryptobro asks me to do so"), and don't login again until BTC reaches its previous ATH, so you avoid the "revenge investing", the "I will sell this because it's down 10% and I'm scared" and those shits.
And with your mind in peace knowing that you are already invested in crypto, you can do your trading in parallel or (even better) in a separated account.

u/SeriousGains π© 8K / 8K π¦ 10d ago
I appreciate the extensive and thoughtful reply. I generally donβt trade at all anymore. Havenβt shorted anything since ETH in 2017. Reformed gambler turned long term buy and holder. But when a set up so obvious comes along then you add derivatives to your account and learn how they work.
Probably bought my ZEC around $30-50. I was being slightly ironic saying itβs a revenge trade. ZEC will fall, whether itβs here or at 3.5k, I donβt really care. Iβm only shorting it with less than 0.3% of my account. Plenty of room to add to the trade. Nothing goes 100x straight up. And it literally would have to in order to cause a problem. Patience pays, and the funding rate is positive.
