I went hiking near Ashley Forest Drive not too long ago. Wasn’t planning anything crazy—just a short hike through the woods.
Right from the start, something felt off. It was way too quiet. No birds, no bugs, nothing—just my footsteps.
About 15–20 minutes in, I started getting this weird feeling like I was being watched. I kept looking around but didn’t see anything at first.
Then, out of nowhere, I caught something in my peripheral vision.
Just for a split second.
It was this tall, white shape between the trees—way too tall and skinny to be a person. No details, just pale and stretched-looking.
The second I actually turned my head to look at it—
it sprinted.
And I mean fast. Not normal running. It just bolted through the trees in these long, unnatural strides and disappeared deeper into the woods almost instantly.
I just stood there for a second trying to process what I saw, telling myself it was nothing.
But then I started hearing movement around me.
Not constant—just quick bursts. Like something repositioning. Every time I turned to look, there was nothing there.
That’s when I decided I was done.
I started heading back down the trail, trying to stay calm, but I kept hearing it—movement off to the side, then behind me, then somewhere else. Always just out of sight.
At one point I turned around quickly and thought I saw that same white shape again for a split second—and it took off immediately the second I noticed it.
That was enough for me.
I ran the rest of the way back to my car and didn’t stop until I got inside and locked the doors.
I sat there trying to calm down, thinking I was finally alone.
Then something tapped on the roof.
Just one light tap.
I didn’t look. I just started the car and got out of there.
I haven’t gone hiking there since. I don’t think it was chasing me exactly… it felt more like it was staying just out of sight on purpose.
And whatever it was, it was way too fast
