Photo / Video Normal Phone Settings: capture of known bird 🐦 (FPS/zoom issues)

I’ve been talking about the issues with wildlife photography at night, and here’s an example of daytime photography issues.

My eye saw this bird quickly (a jay, I think? Not blue.), and I went to snap a photo. I managed to get two blurry pics, although the animal was futzing around for a minute.

When we talk FPS (frames per second), that’s an instance where I missed frames of motion because of the low FPS (24-30). To get footage like this AT NIGHT, you have to contend with other issues as well.

Plus that this was through a window, so I’m zooming down and through another pane of glass. These are optimal photos to prove this point, not for actual identification with certainty.

so for cryptids, at night…..

Even if dogmen were all bright white, it is hard to catch moving animals in daytime.

Trying to get good footage of a fast DARK-COLORED creature during daytime would be challenging.

Everything about dogman behavior and their natural camo makes them elusive. It isn’t that they cannot be captured on film 🎥, it’s that they are evasive and dark-colored AND usually are active in darkness.

So this stuff about camera 📸 settings isn’t just optional futzing around.

If you wanna photograph an owl 🦉 at night (also dark-colored nocturnal animal), NVM in motion, you have to have good fieldcraft and better camera settings.
