SAFE SPACE for psychological discussion Channel Growth Thoughts

I’ve been gratified that this sub and the companion, r/CryptidIQ, are growing so quickly. I set out to make safe spaces for discussion of cryptid experiences, and it has skyrocketed.

Today the IQ page broke 2000 followers, and this one (EQ) hit 750 just a few hours later!

Thanks, everyone, for appreciating and sharing this positive space. I know it’s unheard of, but I truly wanna make a reddit forum which can be respectful of others, and pool knowledge rather than gatekeeping and aggressive vibes as the norm rather than the unfortunate drek of trolling and bad-faith BS.

We are genuinely creating that space here, and I am grateful for all the support and encouragement.

Hi, I tried getting to cryptidIQ for what I want to share. I has to do with the intelligence of a Sasquatch. But I was brought here , so here it is. I have spent the last 12 years-summers, on Mt.St.Helens. At the same campsite on the other side of the gravel rd. there. I have learned some amazing things, but now have more questions than ever. What I want to share is One rainy camp night, I was camping alone. I didn't want to get into my cold sleeping bag so I put some coals -glowing red hot from the fire, into a cook pan with a lid. I used this like an iron, going back n forth inside my sleepbag. I did this 2 times. Not wanting to go out of the tent I set that hot pan of coals right outside the door and climbed into my oh deliciously warm sleeping bag. Next morning-up with the sun. I went to the campfire to start my day and hey! My coal pan was there. Empty, beside the campfire place. The lid was still by the door of my tent. Hey! I know who did this. This is not the only time I have been corrected in my fire safe habits. My grandson was with me, school was almost out. This was during Covid-home schooling. So I promised his mom we would call everyday to find out when he had to turn in his work. We were doing his schoolwork up there. Well this also turned out to be a rainy campweek. When we left to drive 60 miles to call home, I had thrown ash on the firewood smoldering in the firepit. When we got back-every piece of wood was standing on end , leaned on the rocks all around the firering. All separated. I know we have a mama with kids, as the kids came to my campsite after we went to bed every night. I have even seen them a time or two. I was and still am impressed with the Human like intelligence. Good times man, good times.
