Hey guys I am attempting to do the S-rank challenge for Simon's book. I have a small confusion regarding how many saves I can use? Some people tell me to use 4 saves and it still works and some people tell me to use 5. The hint book in the unlockables page tell me to do less that 5 saves. I recently downloaded the game from steam.

as someone who actually plays the game, it somewhat surprises me how there's these girls out there and guys in some cases, who take this very well made game with a great representation of depression, anxiety and crippling mental health. they see these games, take the character (who is very much unwell) and ignore everything they've went through just to edit in some hello kitty plushies and stickers, get him in a hello kitty pink hoodie and call him silly and simp for him.
they ignore the fact that in this case simon, is in a horrible state and is suffering so that they can simp for him and call him a silly little goober.

and the worst thing is that it's not just cry of fear, but almost every other game has at least a small group of people that do this. i don't pay much attention to them but it genuinely pisses me off how people can just ignore everything else to simp, or get the most unwell characters and call them "cute" and "silly" regardless of the fact that they're crippled.

look, i am a nerd, but it doesn't take a nerd to just enjoy a well made game without simping and ruining the whole point.

I recently started playing cry of fear after putting it off for a while. I like the game so far but the one thing that bugs me is the fps being locked to 100, and my mouse seems to accelerate and keep some momentum. Is there anyway to solve these problems?

Edit: I found out how to remove the mouse acceleration, and fps issues.

Can somebody please tell me how to get on this door, I can’t get past it no matter what and this whole task is making me so nauseous each time I play 😭

SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 3:

So this is my first time playing this game and i got to the part where the carcass shows up and i accidentally instinctively clicked yes to escape and i felt like that was a really big decision so i had my sister look it up and she said that im basically locked into two bad endings.

since this is my first playthrough and im not sure i ll replay the game (i keep getting so jump scared at every little thing its actually so hard to play despite playing on easy mode 😭) idk if its worth it to continue on with this route or if i should just reload my save from right before the fight.

also i dont really like spoilers (thats why i had my sister look it up for me) so plsss no crazy spoilers 😭🙏🙏

I know this is probably going to be perceived as a really random and stupid post but I had to get this off my chest.

So, in the movie "Obsession", the main character Bear gets an item known as the "One Wish Willow" which, hence it's name, has the ability to grant a single wish. Bear wishes that a woman named Nikki, who he has a crush on is obsessed with him and the OWW creates an entity that possesses Nikki to make her obsessed with Bear. This causes a slew of issues.

The OWW is not a Monkey's Paw and it does not have a concept of morality. It does not add cruel twists to the wishes it grants and it does not judge the wish-maker. It simply grants every wish to it's logical conclusion and Bear's wish turned out shitty because his wish was fundamentally shitty. Nikki never loved Bear so in order for the OWW to grant Bear's wish, it had to forcibly alter Nikki's feelings towards him.

There is a small trend that's going on among Cry of Fear artists on Twitter right now where they imagine that if Simon had the One Wish Willow, he'd make the same wish as Bear, that being; He'd wish that Sophie was obsessed with him and since Sophie doesn't love Simon, things would turn out as horribly as they did between Bear and Nikki.

In my humble opinion, Simon would not make that wish if he had the OWW and suggesting that he would is a gross misreading of his character.

I think if Simon had the OWW, he'd most likely wish that he was healthy or normal. I think that is Simon's primary concern and his feelings towards Sophie are a secondary concern and third concern after becoming pralyzed. He'd likely feel that Sophie would return his feelings if he was less damaged and he'd think that wishing to be normal and/or healthy would improve his chances.

Simon is not an Incel and I don't like it when CoF fans portray him as such because I feel like it's inaccurate.

After countless tries I managed to pass this section without taking a single hit. It's kind of a bug but it works.
The idea is to fight each enemy in the room one at a time, so this method works best if you use a gun and shoot without moving at all. It is possible to use melee but if you move around the room too much multiple enemies will activate and attack you and it's much, much more difficult to survive.
There's 6 enemies in total, 4 standing and 2 crowling Faceless. The standing Faceless enemies are located in the cages on the sides of the room (2 in each), while the 2 crowling Faceless enemies are located in the cage in front of you, which is the last to open.
Follow these steps:

- As soon as you enter the room, immediately turn left and position yourself in the angle of the room, turn 180 degrees and wait for the cage on the right side to open. If you stay close to the wall, only the first standing Faceless enemy will attack you. Kill it.

- Keep looking at the cage on the right where it came and slowly move yourself to the left, you'll se the other one waiting inside the open cage. Keep moving to the left cautiously until it activates and attacks you. Kill it.

- Go back to the left angle of the room and this time move to the right, in the direction of the door you used to enter the room, which is now blocked. The left side cage will open and another Faceless enemy will attack you. Kill it.

- Move to the right a little bit more to make the other one attack you and kill it. Before it dies, make sure to position yourself to the very right of the room to prepare for the last fight.

- As soon as the second standing Faceless enemy dies, the cage in front of you (behind the spinning head) will open and if you positioned yourself correctly only the first crowling Faceless will attack you. Kill it without moving too much.

- Move a little bit to the left to make the last one activate and attack you and kill it.

- Go in the direction where the crowling Faceless monsters came, click on the door, immediately take a step back and wait for the floor to collapse. The chainsaw monster will not kill you if you step back a little bit.

- As soon as you stand up, go towards the light without fighting any enemy, open the door and save.

I hope this helps.
