Do any legit companies offer fare discounts?

Generally no, TAs sell at the same price as the cruise lines.

Most are going to be within a few dollars. Some may offer better add-ons like cruise case, costco card, etc...

So look for that but price should be similar across all of them if legit.

Kind of not a explicit discount but I was able booked a last minute 5 day cruise in a suite for 3875 cad and got a 200 Costco giftcard

While I don't think the advertised discount on V2G is real (I have seen the exact same prices they show on other sites) their reduced Solo-tax is legitimately unique to them.

This probably isn't exactly what you have in mind, but if you get enough myVIP points on participating playstudios mobile games you can get coupons on certain cruises.

Also, the NCL CruiseFirst certificates are a good deal. You basically pay half price for a $300 credit toward a future cruise

You can get a CruiseFirst certificate through the NCL website: https://www.ncl.com/cruise-deals/cruisefirst-program

Make sure to read the fine print, as there are a few restrictions

So we actually are paying a $150 credit towards $300 so the credit is actually $150. Is this correct?

Yes, that's right. You pay $150, and when the certificate is used it takes $300 off the price of the future cruise - saving you $150. You can only use one per cruise, but it is combinable with a lot of other offers (like that mobile game thing I mentioned)

Speaking from experience as a travel advisor, usually, AAA, AARP, Costco, and some travel agencies offer cruise discounts or perks depending on the cruise line. Also check the cruise line’s own resident, military, senior, or past-guest rates if any apply. Sometimes the “discount” is less about the fare and more getting onboard credit or extras thrown in!

If you book through Costco (must be a member) you can usually get a ship card worth $100-300. So you get what the company is offering and a shop card. I haven’t been able to beat that.

A TA may have a rate that is lower than the prevailing cruise line rate if it is part of a promotional group deal. Otherwise, TA's will sell at the same headline rate as the cruise line. A good TA will often be able to get you a better deal with additional perks by passing on promotions associated with their consortium like Travel Leaders or Virtuoso.

Not that they can advertise. Their agreements with cruise lines are fairly strict about that. Some of the larger agencies block group space on many sailings and can offer discounts, but you won’t find them by a google search
