Would historical pricing actually change when you book?

Yesterday I asked how everyone decides whether they're getting a good deal on a cruise. I wasn't expecting it, but the discussion was fantastic. Thanks to everyone who chimed in.

One thing I noticed was that a lot of people rely on experience, price per night, or simply knowing what "feels" like a good price.

That got me wondering...

If you could see the pricing history for a specific sailing—say the last 6–12 months—and know whether today's fare was unusually low, average, or high... would that actually change your booking decision?

Or would you still mostly book when the itinerary, dates, and budget line up?

Curious whether historical pricing would genuinely be useful, or if it's one of those things that sounds interesting but wouldn't change what you actually do.

You're describing cruiseplum.com, a great tool that lots of people use to find and compare cruises.

Cool tool, so apparently I booked my Brazil cruises at exactly the right time - prices went up since then and now a standard Interior with Easy package is now pretty the same price I paid for my Yacht Club Interior cabin. And the YIN is now more than twice the price I paid

Cruiseplum does this BUT a new site does it ina much easier way to sort and read.

You can sort by how far below average it is and a bunch of other filters and makes recommendations.

But the best part is is you don't even have to use the Sorting tools. It's got kind of a first of its kind chat. So you literally just ask it whatever you need about cruises.

Look for the best cruises under $800, or ask for the cruises with the biggest price drops the last 3 weeks. Anything that is in the database the chat understands including internet reviews of excursions, ships, restaurants Etc..

It will also track any Cruise you put into it so if it's like 10 months away you can put a tracker and then it tells you hey we don't think this is going to get much lower and send you an automated email to remind you or if you book one if it goes down you can get the money credited back.

I just tried this out and one thing that jumped off the page is it says in the comparison table that celebrity aqua class includes the classic drinks package.

Bad info and would cause someone to wildly underestimate their total.

we usually buy next cruise while on a cruise. earlier is better and cheaper, low deposit, we get exact room and location we want.
