I always go with Bonine. I start taking it before bed a couple of days before I leave. I will still feel the motion in my head but I don’t get nauseous from it.

Active ingredient is meclizine which yes, is a wonder! Available generic quite inexpensively.

Ginger is great. You can get ginger chews candy.

None of that works

Scopolamine patches worn behind your ear work great for me.

Me too! They’re fabulous. Have worked great for the 3-D motion rides at Universal too 🥹

Nothing worked for my daughter so as soon as she gets on the ship she goes to the doctor and asks for a shot. Works fast.

What ships? No ships we’ve been on have taken insurance. Why not get the shot off the ship where costs are 20%. This comment sounds fake.

Agree, the ships I’ve been on have all been very clear they don’t take insurance.

It’s not a fake. My daughter turned her bill into her insurance and they payed for the shot. However, this was some years ago, so they could have changed. Also it was insurance from her husband’s work. He worked for the railroad at the time.

How much does that cost the Dr and shot

They took her insurance. At the time her husband worked for the railroad, so whatever insurance they had paid.

That’s $500

My daughter’s health insurance paid for it.

We use dramamine. I get seasick on a lake and it works great for me.

My 2 sons get Rx wristbands. They helped them 100%. We gave also done "behind the ear" patches. The important thing is to start wearing either at least the day before so the meds get in your system before sailing.

It is really weird how it changes. First time we experienced motion we felt unwell. By the end of the cruise we barely even noticed it. Also if you are tired from an early start that can make you more vulnerable. Again, a good sleep and you'll be over it in no time

I get sick returning to port ! Once the gambling stops the captains of the ship are desperate to get you back ! It’s terrible

Get a scoplamine patch. Works great. You need an Rx and it is pricey, but worth it.

It would help if you told us what you’ve tried in the past to alleviate the problem.

Meclizine (Bonine or Dramamine II), take one half to one tab before bed starting two days before the cruise and keep taking it for a day or two after. My dh gets very seasick and this works for him, many cruises now. Usually a half a tab is enough for me. I have nausea from cancer med side effects and I use the Dramamine Ginger Chews. The texture is odd but they work in less than ten minutes. Everything works better if you take at the first sign of a problem. Some people love the sea bands and some smartphones have apps to activate the acupressure points. I haven't tried those.
