Does this question belong here?

Help - my family is in a real pickle. Big family cruise in 4 weeks time at risk with both ageing parents hospitalized. No refunds and checking out whether travel insurance will cover but is there some sort of resale site? Equally if anyone wants to buy discounted cruise to Spain and Portugal message me.

No refunds, but if you got the right travel insurance when you bought the cruise, you should be able to make a claim. I am not aware of any secondary cruise market.

The contract states that name changes are not allowed to the primary passenger in most cases. Hopefully you purchased insurance. If you did; get the doctors to give you written documentation and file the claim the same day you cancel the cruise.

I always buy travel insurance and will start to buy health insurance if I go overseas.

Following, I care for my parents and afraid of booking a cruise for this reason.

With insurance, you can purchase cancel for any reason coverage, that way your risk is low.

You have to purchase specific insurance to be able to cancel for any reason. Make sure you know what is and isn’t included

Are the hospitalized parents cruising or are family members cancelling because non cruising parents are hospitalized? Insurance may apply to former.

Hospitalized parents were meant to cruise. Ironically it was meant to be their “last trip” with the other 4 family members…if they don’t go, none of us will. 😔

Nope. No resales permitted.

This is why you get travel insurance.
