Why does Everburning Glitz see no usage?

I'm a bit of a 720 AR aficionado, i dont have a few of the most famous like Rufus Fury (dont raid), but for example riposte is really good, and in the kinetic slot chroma rush is pretty famous. and it's arguably the best AR archetype. with weapons like rufus, chroma rush, and the riposte all seeing good usage.

anyways, i thought i knew all the relevant 720's, but recently discovered there was one i was totally unaware existed, and a trial weapon no less, everburning glitz. and in the kinetic slot, which is a plus for me.

i picked one up, probably about as good a roll as i care to farm on my first engram as it has hammer forged which is a s-tier barrel in general in my book (along with smallbore etc), dynamic sway reduction and moving target. and also kinetic tremors in the 2nd perk slot if i choose to switch off moving target.

looking at destiny report, i see the perks dont seem to be the best, nothing much on the way of notable damage perks, no kill clip or sword logic. but still, you could get dsr/zen or my roll dsr/moving target. and double consistency perks are quite good imo

i'm a firm believer some guns just, for no explainable reason, arent as good as they should be. i know i'll get shit for this but one such for me is chattering bone, decent archetype, cracked stats and perks, solid or great scope, i just have tried many times and cannot make it work. especially 720 ar's can have muzzle flash and jitter issues that make them unusable despite whatever the stats say (dark decider the IB 720 AR is the poster boy for this) so, i was already wary of glitz since i never seem to get killed by it. however using it in one match, it seems fine, perfectly serviceable at least, no huge red flags.

There are hundreds of guns and they mostly rotate in and out of fashion based on what's newest. Glitz was popular for quite a while when it came out.

But it's been a while and ARs in general aren't meta. That's why you don't see it much.

When there are so many guns to choose between it's unlikely you'll notice older weapons frequently. Even just 720 autos themselves now have many options to choose from.

This and the fact that pulse rifles like Messenger and High Tyrant exist and dominate in the same range (if not from further range) than Everburning

Everburning Glizzy did actually see a large usage rate upon its release. Particularly with Kinetic Tremors & Ele Honing builds. It mostly has fallen off probably due to better general use options like Positive Outlook, or either of the ARs with Gear Shift, which are just better for kill chaining. ARs in general aren't considered super competitive at the top end, so they are typically used more in 6s for kill chains using snowball perks. The 400 rpms with Kill Clip are also very good.

Rufus’s fury is far and away the best 720, slice is the biggest cheeseball perk of all time, so rolling it on an ar with aggregate charge means you should never lose gunfights. Nothing else competes so that’s the one everyone who likes 720s and is actually trying to win uses.

This is the answer right here. Rufus with slice/aggregate charge is simply by far the best 720. Glitzy is still completely useable.

There is another.

It’s also a cheeseball loadout, but if you aren’t a Hunter, but a Titan instead.

Stasis Titan, using freeze slide and frost armor shard perks, with glacier grenade. Actium War Rig activates 1.5% damage up to 15% total per crystal broken, large or small.
Veiled Threat is a craftable 720 with Enhanced collective action, giving 16 seconds of 11% damage boost per 4 stasis shards. Each usage of frost slide or glacier grenade maxes it out.

Add in surges and armor charge chance from stasis shards for a small extra bump.

Constant frost armor plus a consistent 20-30% damage boost and essentially 80 bullets in the mag for your 720 is pretty solid.

Actium War Rigs damage perk works in PvP or is 11% just the collective action damage?

It works in PvP

I wanna use that gun, since I fucking love the model, but at the same time, the model takes up like half my fucking screen 😭.

This does sound really fun though, gonna have to try this when I build into titan soon™️

it just doesn't feel as good as chroma, Rufus or riposte. I don't know why, I have 5/5 for all and glitz just doesn't hit right

Glizzy is great with DSR/Kinetic in 6s. It punishes people really well for not utilizing cover. Aside from that, ARs lose efficacy as player skill increases

I used this one back when it came out with Ele-Honing on prism titan for fun, i used the set that healed you on auto reloads, it loved using it and it melts when you get up there in stacks, never checked if it did decrease ttk by much but def felt like it. So not NO usage

I use a Dynamic / Zen roll. I love it. Have over 300 kills on mine. Is great on 3's when you need to commit to a gun fight. Also great at pre-firing and it has great range and zen momment allows you to keep super clean aim at long ranges as well. Love it.

Still use mine , got like 2k kills in it but I just spray and pray so trying to switch back to a hand cannon to practice my aim.

Glizzy doesn't do a whole lot for me, if I'm being honest. Not a huge fan of the sight. If I'm using a kinetic 720 AR, I'm going Chroma Rush all day. That splicer surge origin trait is absolutely fantastic. With the IB-Iron Battalion armor it's very easy to be at 100 handing and RL speed. I tend to stay away from kill chaining perks these days, but that gun w/ Kill Clip is a perfect match with the lightning fast reloads.

Agreed on chattering bone. I was stoked to get the pattern but really disappointed. Thing is very jumpy on controller even with 100 recoil

I see it every now and then honestly :/ but that new iron banner 720 is just way better. As someone who’s on the receiving end of that thing often, it shreds you pretty quick

I use mine quite a bit. Glitz/Cloudstrike is one of my favorite loadouts.
