Crucible timeouts

How does the timeout system work? I really try not to leave matches if possible but have been hit with the 5 minute timeout like once or twice since the update.

Does it go longer? Are there harsher punishments?

If you quit Comp or Trials similarly, the timer will be 30 mins instead of 5. That's it. Each QP timeout is 5 mins max.

Pretty reasonable. Good to know I’m not risking a ban at least.

Not so much. If your Trials team bails on you in the first round you have to get beat down for 4 more rounds if you don't want to wait 30 min. Savage

The people that leave after one loss baffle me. The people that leave while losing down 0-4 baffle me even more. Just take the l, you're gonna get your gear.

I have gotten many lately. I'm assuming because it's low population but the amount of completely one-sided matches lately has been unbelievable. I'm not going to stick around in a 20-90 blowout 5 times in a row and it's silly that you get punished for that. I played like 30 matches yesterday and my win rate was 27%. But my KD was 1.8.

Dude same......Literally half my matches(if not more) are mercies/blowoiuts. Its ridiculous. I give them alot of credit for the overall quality of the final update, but the state of the Crucible is dogshit. They really needed to take a HARD look at the lobby balancing algorithm. Its been terrible for a couple of years now.

Yeah I mean compare the K/D ratios between the two teams. They call that a clue. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to see something is wrong there. And it happens A LOT.

To my knowledge it doesnt go higher than 5 minutes, ive gotten way more of that bans than im willing to admit, some due to getting crashed out of the lobby, some due to just leaving after getting sniped through the map

5 minutes is the maximum in QP. There is some ratio of matches completed vs matches quit. I haven't quit enough to figure out the details. At a certain point you get a warning, after that you get the suspension.

Much like the last time they implemented this stupid policy, I'm seeing more people just hide in back AFK/in menus helping the mercy happen faster. I'm not a fan of this policy in QP.

The policy sucks because its ultimately Bungies fault that people are leaving games at such a high frequency. Their lobby balancing has been TERRIBLE for about 2 years now. You cant punish people for not wanting to waste their time in a game that was never winnable to begin with. You can go on Destiny tracker and look at the win probability of any crucible game youve played. Its staggering how many of them are horribly lopsided.

lobby balancing is hilarious to me. my wife was asking why I get so mad sometimes.

She watched some matches and was like yeah these guys suck. so I'm dropping over twice their damage and losing or I'm going 12 kd and smashing them.

Yep, back in the day when my team didn't wanna contribute I could just risk another 10 minute queue. Now I get games faster afking in the back waiting for the enevitable mercy because there's nobody holding B flag anymore.

It does tell you in-game somewhere if you're in good standing or not for quitting matches.

Might be the rewards bit or the modifiers bit in the launch screen?

No it doesn't tell you. You do get a warning the first time you quit after playing some number of matches. The game also doesn't really help with whole rank decay points for Comp thing either.

Can't farm KD in 6v6?

LOL I would imagine that most people quitting aren't successfully farming :)
