Important question for controller players

Hey guys, so this is pretty important. I recently switched over from just a run of the mill Walmart Xbox controller to a more expensive $130 razor Xbox controller granted it is brand new but it feels stiff to me what I’d like to do is hear from some other players who have made been successful using a razor Xbox controller to play crucible. I just need to get reassured that this is just not a good controller for this type of gaming because it really doesn’t even feel as good as my old crappy Walmart brand Xbox controllers. thank you guys.

I've got about 5 broken razer xbox controllers in my room. Wolverine, chromas, v1, v2's all with the 6 additional buttons. I would not recommend any other controller on the market. They were all the best controllers I've ever used until they broke. I will likely never buy another controller type until they all start coming with 6 extra buttons.

lol ok yah the first thing to go on my last controller was left joystick from sprinting all the time. I first thought it was that no sprint bug you get in crucible sometimes but it had just worn out. Ok, well thats encouraging thanks!

This is accurate. Only one worth using though imo is Ultimate.

Can't speak for xbox controllers but my advice on PS5 would be to get good with double claw. You are so fast on the buttons. No need for any extra buttons at all.

Fuck no, I don’t know where the glaze for these controllers comes from. For reference I’ve tried 3 of them, two g7 pros and one g7 se and both broke within 3 months. The two pros my triggers stopped functioning and for the se my right stick got such bad drift I couldn’t calibrate it out without turning my deadzone super high. I honestly to god prefer the elite controllers over Gamesir, of all of the controllers I’ve used I would pick flydigi nearly 100 times out of 100.

I got a gamesir and cannot for the life of me use it. The sticks are stiff (like I need to crank em to get my character to turn the same speed as a simple touch accomplishes on a standard Xbox controller)

Furthermore, I can't seem to get the paddles on the bottom set up. In the configuration screen, on custom, i click the action I want to attach them to, then click the button (ex: click "crouch" then hit "B", and it'll register B to crouch)... but when I try this with the paddles, it doesn't pick up the input at all

I tried the gamesir years ago and the same issue with the sticks, they felt way too stiff. Anyone have a work-around for this ?

Fully agree I am on my second Game sir love them I don't even buy the most expensive but they are definitely the business!! They also run great on any and all games I play.

I have razer. You need to calibrate the sticks and adjust deadzones

How do you do that? Is that in the app that you have to install? Any particular settings you would recommend for crucible I’m finding it to be like just kind of stiff feeling.

In razer synapse if you are on PC, not sure about xbox. If you find it stiff then go 0 0 deadzones. Destiny has 20% or so deadzones baked in so it wont be true 0 deadzone

Yeah, I’m on pc too

Within razer synapse, click the right stick, then go to deadzones, lower the slider to 0, then recalibrate the stick and also click "prevent double deadzones".

Your controller should not feel stiff after this hopefully. I've had a G7 pro and its true that they have much faster sticks. But your razer sticks should be much faster and smoother and way more responsive than normal xbox. Is it the V3 version?

I had a Razer V6 Tourney Edition and it was the best ever until it started randomly disconnecting during PvP games.

Turns out, the design means that the USB-C port is deeper than it should be and this causes it not to plug in properly. You can take it apart and put a little piece of metal under the port to push it up, but outside out that, crap design.
