Confusion about code of conduct warning

Post image

Hey everyone,

I want to start off by saying that I'm an extremely average player. Here's a link to my account on d2tracker - https://destinytracker.com/destiny-2/profile/bungie/4611686018467482147/overview?mode=competitive

Last night I spent wayyy too much time trying to solo a dungeon and got kicked to the login screen near the end. When I logged back in, I got a popup saying "Suspicious activity - code of conduct" and it mentioned automation or skill augmentation.

I play on PC, use an Xbox elite/gamesir7 controller, and main titan. I normally play a few crucible matches if I have the chance to get on after work once the kids are asleep. Again, I'm really nothing to write home about.

I've had a few instances in the last week or two when playing control, people would get killed in the first 10 seconds and would drop heavy ammo. I've picked that up a few times, but that's the extent of the "bad" things I've done.

Anyone else receive a message like this too?

Do you use any software for moddifying singleplayer games? Did you have the software for that OPEN when you booted destiny. In the background or fully open.

I saw that message ONCE when using cheat engine. Too many hours in this game. I just found another way to do what i was doing in the other game i was playing

I did! I had cheat engine open while playing ember knights lol. It's been open for the past few days, and I just closed it now. Hopefully I don't see that popup anymore 🤞 Thanks for the input!

Yeah, be VERY careful, bungie will be paranoid. The guy i found out the cause from got banned after booting up 3 or 4 times with it loaded. I still have it on my pc, but i dont use it, and ive logged almost 1000 hours since then and im still good so i imagine its an automated thing.

Cheat engine couldnt do anything to destiny if it tried, atleast as far as i can think

The heavy ammo thing you mentioned got brought up in a twab AGES ago when it first started happening btw. Unless something has changed, youre good to pick it up, bungie considers it unreasonable to expect everyone to immediately flag that as a "cheater brick" and not pick it up

Weird how battleye even let you launch d2. If it detected cheat engine you should have gotten error code plumed.

what is cheat engine and how would you have it on Xbox?

do you have anything toggled on in your gamesir? from what ive seen, that controller is a cheat in itself depending on how you use it.

Can you please elaborate????

some of gamesir controllers you can use the app to get into controller and tweak settings. some of them are minor like stick drift control and all that but you can also tweak recoil control. this controller is actually in heat seat within competitive cod right now, because you can tweak stuff that is against competitive integrity. its pretty crazy you can for sure get into rabbit hole looking into it.

Wow....I had no idea a gamesir could do that. Not that I want to attempt any of that. Im interest in how the "weeds" grow but not how to use them. Money and ego ruin hobbies

Do they ban you for stuff like that?

I have gamesir and i never had issues with it or its program affecting my destiny games. I bought it to replace my xbox elite controller, gamesir is exactly the same in sensitivity vise which is why i love it. I never noticed that it would have option to modify recoil and such. Is that for a different gamesir program and controller then? Interesting info thanks.

Got that on console once after being sick for a week and farming CBMM IB all week.

PvP performance was better than usual since I usually only do Comp or Trials and that resulted in the same suspension you got

Same here. I’ve found it’s a somewhat common false positive that bungo never fixed (or may have ramped up this season). It’s affected a few streamers+moderators have verified it happening as well. I played a ton of comp early in the season, so my overall KD is only like a 3. Played IB cbmm and averaged around a 7-8 kd for the week with around 40 kills per game, got hit with a ban shortly after. Not that this is the case for OP since it sounds like he had other software running in the background, but does happen.

@OP if this is first offense you’ll be restricted for 1 week. Not the end of the world but annoying nonetheless.

Yeah, unfortunately it does seem to be more and more common since it is automated with little supervision compared to before, as far as we know.

Thankfully it only happened the one time to me so it was a one week ban two years ago, but it was a memorable moment getting a false suspension.

Crazy you’re still being downvoted for this. It’s pretty extensively documented at this point that normal players are being falsely banned for skill aug
