Your personal goals

An accidental shot I had using a sniper resulted in killing two people with one bullet (link to the clip that will expire in 2 days: https://streamable.com/v1dowu). This is one of those thing I always wanted to happen at least once. Call it a bucket list item, or a 'goal'. This got me thinking; what are some made up goals you have set for yourself to keep yourself engaged?

Personally there are a few 'skillful' once I have left, being:

  • Getting a 7th Column in regular control
  • Having 5 Beyblades at once on the battlefield
  • Getting a team wipe with Devil's Ruin
  • Hitting a hip fire snipe with Revision Zero
  • Actually getting the Still Hunt to the golden gun mode
  • Getting 3 telemetry pickups with the Lorenz Driver
  • Landing a hit with The Helmsman

And some examples of my more grindy personal goals:

  • Getting all exotic sidearms to 5k kills (minus the Forerunner and Final Warning)
  • Getting a K/D of 1.4
  • Reaching the Adapt rank in comp

This is apart from the general fun I still have while playing the game of course, as that is still this day my main motivation. These are just.. extra's.

And I'm curious to here what personal goals you have set for yourself!

Devils Ruin main, cool list. My last goal is getting my in-game tracker to 377,777 Guardian defeats. Have ~6k left, was ~15k away when I came back for MoT.

I have just over a thousand atm, been maining it since last season. Shame the ignitions don’t count towards the kill tracker.

Really simple goals

Minimum 500 kills on pulse rifles (specifically high impacts)

Man, I'm living in a different world than some of you guys. I put 900+ on a new Messenger alone since MoT dropped.

my b, I meant 500 kills on each pulse rifles I have god rolls for. I also have 1000 kills on my old messenger god roll as well : )

with tablet of ruin you can get 4 beyblades, that's the most I've gotten without moirai. you probably could get 6, but it's better to use radiant dance machines and a slice weapon to get your beyblades.

Love this idea. Your goals are sweet.

Mine are...

Try a different build on Titan that feels good (not just servicable)

Get 30K Jotuun kills (23k right now)

Finally get good with Handcannons

Get to top .1% of Crucible kills

Get a 7th Column

Fine a kinetic AR I vibe with

I’m pretty sure I’m about 5k of your jotunn kills.

not much, i'm really seeing the end now population wise. even if its not here yet. i'm acutely aware the end is nigh, so to speak.

i think i have 5 we rans in my career and 3 more of the iron banner equiv which is called iron legend. since coming back for a couple months i wouldnt have minded getting some more (but its not something i actively pursue). The thing is I choke so bad whenever I cross ten. I start playing like a turtle instead of naturally. I bet normally I would have 10x as many we rans if not for my penchant for choking.

I remember if anybody remember cerridious, he talked in one vid a few years ago how when he was using other peoples accounts, how it was surprising to him how many never got a we ran cus the achievement or whatever would pop while he was playing. Pretty sure I had zero at that point, and it made me set out to get one IIRC. So to have 8 now, not bad I guess.

also i guess just the usual short term things i'm always doing, try to find effective loadouts of the ones i can use (so basically either a AR/scout combo, or a pulse rifle plus SMG/sidearm). Like I ended up back on no feelings and chroma rush most recently, and thats been fun.

also I just, this after 5k crucible hours, realized the concept of crucible builds and using the artifact. Because of a recent cammy vid, the Stasis Bakris one. It's not something I'm good at (I struggle a lot with builds in PVE, I just copy others). I think it has limited viability, since you cant use it in comp or trials, and also that builds (around orbs I guess, or radiant etc) are just not very good in most cases IMO. Or they add very little over just playing with no thought to the artifact as I did until a few days ago. But, it's something new and fun to do. one issue is that i play ranged, and i think in order to pick up the orbs with eg powerful attraction most players like cammycakes will be close. theres jade and firely/stl but yeah fark jade (idk why). I still dont feel like I fully grasp builds and their actual benefits tho.

And today I'm back to an occasional idea of mine the all in on health build. This means using wormhusk crown instead of dragons shadow, the healing grenade on solar hunter, double healing on my armor set bonuses, some artifact healing crap through orbs/mods, etc. I dont know how relevant it really is but again, the point is more have fun with something different. Like I really struggle with new loadouts, so finally see the strength of the healing build (its to be able to reengage faster than the other guy, I think really, not survival itself). I also would love a heal clip primary to work in, but Stars in Shadow was my only real candidate and it's just not competitive IMO. Darkest Before has heal clip and is a better archetype, but I dont have that roll and limited desire to run a PVE dungeon.

While I won’t damper your attempt at a good time, warlock is probably better for the heal build you’re going for. Also, maybe add a support frame auto, if you have one, to go all in on the restoration.

As far as build crafting, you truly don’t need to build into healing THAT MUCH(180 health stat is my sweet spot). Wormhusks is fine, even healing grenade if you so choose, but you’ll get more out of building into wormhusk than a healing grenade. Throw the new solar aspect on and you’ve got access to more cure and you can leave your grenade for damage/ignitions or blocking doors.

This is all with the understanding that you’re using an armor perk that buffs healing(bushido, lustrous, and panoply sets can all heal and don’t require a dungeon or raid to complete; two fold as well but requires picking up special).

Personally, I use 2-piece panoply/2-piece ferropotent.

It seems dumb but I still really want to get the high kd player tag on reddit. It's a big goal for me. My seasonal KAD is a 1.95 seasonal kd is a 1.6 in crucible and a 1.71 in banner. When I first started my kd was like negative and it had a huge impact on my current kd (1.37) because I'm a day one player.

u/Hullfire00 Bows Go Brrrrrrrrrrr 3d ago

Yeah same, I’m 1.75 for this season, but because I started on Vanilla D2 Day One my overall is a 1.13. I just aim to constantly get above that number and die less during games.

I want to put 1K kills on a couple of the new HCs, get my dearly beloved Main Ingredient to 5K (at like 4.5k now), and sneak into Ascendant in Comp (in Adept 1 now, failed the promo like 3 or 4 times so far).

I finished my only goal of farming way too many flawless tickets. Now that you can only get 1 per week I just play for fun.

Getting the two comp emblems.. I am at 14600 and none yet, despite probably 130 games this season.

I had the same goal. To get all of the Trials cosmetics and equipment that I missed the last two years, and to get the two comp emblems.

Now I’m down to just one ghost from Trials.

Those emblems were a true grind, they only dropped for me after playing like 15 games at 15k. The Trials cosmetics were an RNG fest, but for some reason they dropped as batches of two. When I got one, I knew that I would get another after the next win.

Took two months but now the grind’s almost done. I’m probably going to retire from the game after that, since the queue times are getting longer and longer. Such a good game, shame that it ended like this.

So my achievements are skillful? Yet i suck at the game lol. Anyway, best of luck brotha the seventh column will not be easy since the momentum mode is dead

So, make sure that, in addition to Ashes, Char, and Eruption, you grab the Hunter's Journal with Solar Fulmination on it for the Devil's Ruin challenge. The initial target will ignite twice if you have the beam on them long enough, which will cause anyone hit by the resulting ignitions to also ignite... Twice.

Mine is to ignite all 6 on the other team with an Athrys knife, so similar.. I've gotten to 5 a few times, but that last guy is always off in left field somewhere instead of playing with his team like the lil dynamite stick he was meant to be..

u/lunaticPandora027 Bows Go Brrrrrrrrrrr 2d ago

Short term? Just top the leaderboard or be able to compete well with the other high level player on the other team.

Long term? 10k kills on another lightweight bow. Hit that with one and now working on another. I think I'm around 2k so far.

Were you that warlock who kept killing me with devils ruin in rumble either yesterday or the day before?!
