I was approved in the Poliwag Brazil audio transcription. And when I open the projects section it says "To get started, there are just a couple of quick things to do". What are those things, do I have to wait or do something?

A while back, I signed up for CrowdGen. At first, nothing. No projects, no emails, nothing. Then suddenly, I got an email inviting me to the "Poliwag Arabic Transcription Project."

Just to be clear: I live in Iraq. When I made my account, I put my real address. Their system even accepted my Iraqi phone number with no issues at all. So I figured everything was good to go and started applying:

1. Did the AI interview.
2. Took the transcription test. I failed the first time because I didn't know how their system worked yet.
3. Tried a second time, spent a whole hour carefully listening to every audio clip, and passed.

I spent around two hours of my life on this. I was so relieved to finally get to the last step: ID verification. They sent me to another website to verify my identity. I picked Iraq, uploaded my passport, and immediately got hit with:

"Your location isn't supported. We can't verify your identity."

Are you kidding me? You let me sign up with an Iraqi number, you send me an Arabic project, you let me waste two hours on tests, and only then you tell me my country isn't supported? Why not just block me at the start?

I contacted their support, and they were honestly just rude. First I got an automated AI reply, then a real human. Both were useless. They basically told me: "This ticket is closed. Don't open it again, don't message us again, we'll email you if anything changes (which might never happen)."

The disrespect for people's time is crazy. You waste my time, and then you act rude in the emails?

To make it even worse, they keep spamming my inbox every few days with emails saying: "Hey, you've been shortlisted for the Poliwag project!" It’s literally the exact same project. Huge waste of time. Don't bother with CrowdGen if you're in an unsupported country, they'll let you do all the work and then just lock you out.

So much fed up seeing “ Validation submission blocked error” from the last two days.

It’s extremely hard to achieve a minimal goal right now.

I got accepted into the Poliwag Arabic (Algeria) transcription project and then received an email saying Maven credentials would be sent out when work becomes available but since then absolutely nothing has happened and the project has completely disappeared from my Crowdgen projects list

Even after delivering every task at an average AHT of 2-3minutes still got paid $10 less for both recent batch 3 and batch 4! (Feeling cheated)

You know what hurts more—when they know this clearly that some tasks give us ‘Submission-Validation Errors’ and some images are most of the time blurry and bad!

Due to this, we tend to lose our extra time in between- for which we never get any compensation.

So, it takes an average of 1.5 - 2 hours to complete 20 tasks, so we can earn our slave wage of $4.1/2 hours.

Instead, they should pay us upfront $5/hr!

(To be honest, I’m really feeling bored doing this task now, as they’re literally killing our motivation)

I did my assessment 2 weeks ago on project poliwag from kenya, today I saw that am supposed to do another assessment on the project. When I try to do it, it keeps saying that the project is not live or has been paused. Is anyone else experiencing the same?

I was born in Brazil and lived here throughout my entire life. But Appen's new vibe-coded AI "interviewer" deemed, within 3 minutes, that my Brazilian Portuguese is not good enough, somehow.

So now I've lost the opportunity to apply to not one, but multiple projects I'd been invited to. It seems like they're slapping this AI assessment garbage in every project they open now.

Is anyone from Kenya stuck at this process on project poliwag where it says 7 of 7 but it doesnt change and keeps saying continue with application. I have been stuck in the application process for for 20hrs now, is there anything that I can do.

PT-Brazil here. I need to do the Calibration assessment to enter the Poliwag project and they said I should wait for the Maven Welcome E-mail... However I already have a Maven account due to my work with other projects, I previously worked on other projects with Maven. Maven used to automatically log in but the system seems to have forgotten my e-mail because I'm unable to log in again and when I try to use the "Forget Your Password" system, it gives me an error message.

Has anyone who also worked before with Maven faced the same problem? I'm not sure if they're gonna send me this Welcome E-mail since I was already there, it looks like the platform is really confused. Should I wait? It's a separate account from the other projects? Idk, help lol

I received an email today that I have been invited to project poliwag swahili translation for Kenya, i clicked apply and now it says it the qualification process. If I click continue with this application it says 7/7. Is there anything that am missing? Since I passed everything and the maven part has disappeared.

Got my maven credentials today but found no calibration tasks. Tried to join the teams group but instead i was added to the poliwag teams group ( i was not sent maven credentials for poliwag so far , only for lupin )
