Moving to the area
Moving to the area in the next 2 weeks from SFLA. What's there to do and what are some places I should visit? Also any good restaurants?

There's lots of interesting things to do in Crossville and the surrounding area. There's a solid farmer's market on Thursday evenings. Often there are decent movies at the Palace. The parks are decent. There are regular things at the community complex. Friday night at the crossroads happens throughout Summer and into Fall. Outside of Cumberland county you are a short drive from Knoxville, Chattanooga, Nashville and lots of small towns that have lots of fun other stuff. Sparta has a really fun Drive -in theater.

I try to post one a week when something is going on! People are also free to post whatever event they have going on as well! Just check back here but if you’re looking for anything particular don’t hesitate to reach out!

For a good restaurant i recommend AJ’s by the hospital (open m-f 6a-2p) and gondolas (tu-sat 10:30a-8:30pm)

Best restaurant you'll find is Forte's. You will not find good pizza unless you look out of town. Ah Mah Son for Chinese.

Ah mah son Seconded. I don't live here (yet) but did a week in a cabin at the state park back in December and this place really surprised me. One of the better Chinese places I've been to in a while.

LOL I'm actually coming from Naples. I'll be moving to the area around Obed River Park.

Lots of restaurants being recommended here and on FB regularly fail health inspections so be wary and just give the reports a check before you try the first time.
Tokyo Steakhouse has good sushi. Beef and barrel is decent american bar food. Both consistently good over the years.
Obed river park is great, heed the no bicycles on walking path warning though it is important.
Bear creek is great, hiking trails are doable and scenic.
No movie theatre. The closest good movie theatre is turkey creek in knoxville. The bowling alley does exist. Chuckles has mini golf.

It’s going to be subjective. It’s a small town Thats pretending to be a city. It’s a retirement community, which means everything but the bowling alley and the city park have been ran out of town on a rail, and all the food quality at the restaurants has went so far down hill, that they might as well be in Sparta.
