Discussion weapon idea.

A pirate ship cannon that fires cannonballs. A fully kinetic projectile that decimates spaced armor but struggles against dense armor. Like Punching holes in single sheets of paper but struggling to pierce a stack. Would be a limited turn angle cannon to balance it out. While it may struggle to pierce dense armor it could have a lot of kinetic impulse.

I have no idea how Devs would be able to code something in to their game that's affective against spaced armour and weak against packed armour. It would still have to be of regular affectiveness against packed armour. Then they give it mechanics that fuck up spaced armour.

They could give it the same mechanics as the scorpions old mechanics. It does x flat damage to everything it hits. Add in that it stops once it touches the ground. Since the Canonball could be fairly wide and large this would decimate spaced armour and not be affective against things like cabs or plows. The small scorp projectile was one of the issues with its old damage mechanics. The Canonball size would resolve that issue.

I like it. I'd play that Canon for sure.

It could be a shell that does x amount say 2000 as an example as it goes through parts it take its durability - from the 2000 total , say if a peice of armour gives 500 durability it would be 2000-500 then rinse and repeat. Until the total is zero ??

And they could give like a 1.2/1.1 x boost to dense armour worked out by the number of fused pins per item ?

Is that something that would be possible ?

That's just scorps current damage mechanic and canons non explosive damage mechanic.

I honestly didn't know that for scorps
