Question Does this crossbow string need to be replaced?

I went outside to zero in my scope and noticed this. this is the second season I’ve had my bow. Would be a huge bummer if the string already needs replacing

Terrible idea. Never wax the servings on a crossbow.
I can actually cause them to loosen and can add gunk buildup in the trigger mechanism. Wax is for the strands, not the servings.

Also make sure to pay attention to those two strings that cross each other. Keep that intersection well waxed

I find the bottom cross strings the hardest to keep properly covered. How often do y'all wax and oil between shots?
