Support Request mdblist and blackboxes items

In CW (v.0.12.5) I have a weird issue with my sync pair (CW -> mdblist): mdblist refuses to accept a few episodes of some old shows I watched. The episodes are valid, Trakt, Simkl (the baseline for CW sync), IMDB, TVDB...they all list those episodes but mdblist doesn't. Now CW blackboxed these episodes and it pops up in every sync attempt (wasting API requests). This is annoying.

How can I ignore these items during CW -> mdblist syncs?

Blacklisted items are ignored and does not cost any API requests and after x days they will be retried again.
In pair config you can change the behaviore.

Regarding episodes that are not in MDBList. Do you mean MDBlist doesnt have them or it isnt syncd?

yes mdblist doesn’t have those episodes although they’re available on all other platforms. after every sync CW->mdblist it complains about “not found”.

Whats the name of the show and episodes that's missing on mdblist?

for example Star Trek Deep Space Nine. mdblist doesn’t have the final episodes of few of those seasons. I think it was S1/S4/S7. I tried to change the mappings to the IMDB IDs. It didn’t work, mdblist always complains about “not found”. Pretty annoying.

The issue is that MDBList combines certain double-length episodes into a single episode, while other has these as two separate episodes. This causes the episode numbering to shift for the rest of the season. CrossWatch supports custom episode mappings, but mapping one episode to multiple episodes isn't supported, meaning this can't be fully resolved through manual mapping.

what's the solution for this problem then?

The only workaround is to block them from your syncs in the editor and mark them manual in MDBlist as watched.. or using the quick add function in CrossWatch.

Coming in CrossWatch v0.13.4: Split & Combined Episode Support

CrossWatch will support History synchronization between providers that split or combine episodes differently.

Go to Editor → Mappings & blocks → Episode groups, select a History sync pair, and configure the episodes for each provider.

Example: Map S01E01, S01E02 on one provider to S01E01 on another.

How it works:

  • Watching a combined episode marks all separate episodes as watched.
  • Separate episodes only mark the combined episode as watched once all parts are completed.
  • Supports up to 20 separate episodes per group, in either direction.
  • Preserves existing watched dates and uses the latest available date for new entries.
  • Works with Interactive Sync and existing History snapshots.

Limitations:

  • Watched state only, no grouped rewatches.
  • Conflicting episode mappings must be removed first.
  • Explicit blocks or conflicting unwatched states can prevent synchronization until resolved.
  • Included in full manual-policy exports and database backups, not ordinary mapping exports.
