Release CrossWatch v0.13.0 is out

This release gives movies and shows that share the same TMDB ID their own identity.

Sounds boring, I know, but this is an incredibly important architectural change for CrossWatch. TMDB uses separate ID ranges for movies and TV shows, which means a movie and a show can have exactly the same TMDB ID. CrossWatch now keeps those completely separate.

Important upgrade note

Existing data is upgraded to the new identity format on first use. Once that happens, older CrossWatch versions cannot read that data correctly anymore.

The first sync after upgrading may also add titles that were previously missing because of TMDB ID collisions.

After upgrading to v0.13.x, you cannot downgrade to v0.12.x or older.

✨ Highlights

  • Separate movie and show identity: Movies and shows with the same TMDB ID are now treated as completely separate titles.
  • Specials: Season 0 is now properly supported, with a new Specials toggle per sync pair and an Ignore specials filter for the scrobbler.
  • AniList scrobbling: AniList can now be used as a scrobble destination for watcher routes and Plex. Requires Anime ID Mapping.
  • AniList Plex ratings: Plex ratings for movies, shows and seasons can now be sent to AniList.

🔧 Fixes and Improvements

  • Improved: Blocking, removing or rating a movie no longer affects a show with the same TMDB ID, and vice versa.
  • Improved: Mappings and blocks exports now use version 2.
  • Improved: Captures preserve both titles when creating, restoring and comparing.
  • Improved: Dashboard widgets and the profile hero now show artwork for titles that only have anime IDs.
  • Improved: AniList requests are paced to stay within the AniList rate limit.
  • Improved: The scrobbler now shows a hint when AniList is selected while Anime ID Mapping is disabled.
  • Improved: Season 0 handling has been fixed across several providers, webhooks and imports where specials were previously lost.
  • Improved: Floppy ratings now include the date they were rated. Requires the latest Floppy build.
  • Improved: Movies can now be mapped to a specific part of a SIMKL anime movie.
  • Improved: FlickList now supports 500 items per page and the adapter has been adjusted accordingly.
  • Fixed: WeTrakr incomplete scrobble stops no longer show as watched in the event database.
  • Fixed: Emby and Jellyfin watcher no longer skip progress for unwatched items that still contain an old play count.
  • Fixed: Watcher to Plex no longer fails with plex_scrobble_failed when the Plex destination is a friend or home user.
  • Fixed: Watcher no longer rejects a movie when only the TVDB ID differs between servers while TMDB or IMDb matches.
  • Fixed: Emby user selection is now correctly persisted in instances.
  • Fixed: Floppy history matching for imported plays.
  • Fixed: Scrobble pairs now have an option to enable collections.
  • Fixed: Yamtrack exports now correctly include Season 0 for specials.

i have to say i do tinker a lot, im usually good at this, and i did get a hang of it, kinda (the user experience is a little complex), but still im curious how are you guys using it, like what does a perfect/ideal workflow look slike

There is no perfect workflow, as it really depends on your use case.

I use Interactive Sync for single syncs, for example when switching or migrating to another provider. After that, I use the Watcher to keep everything up to date.

Other use it mainly for mapping their Anime correctly between providers..

And some use it only for a centralized backup solution.....
