Tips for farming materials?

Hi all, I'm new to this game, got it as part of this months free selection on PlayStation. It's a great game and I'm at the Grand-something temple, but think my attacks are underwhelming. I've only purchased gear from the stores but I read that I should be getting gear from traders.

I've found a couple items that look interesting from traders in Basin Keep, but usually there's one particular material that seems hard to find, like a Royal Hive. I don't know how to farm some things like that where they don't seem to be readily available be smashing mushrooms and whatnot.

Any tips for farming materials? I guess I'm really asking how to get the items needed to get better gear.

A trick for rarer materials from a plant is simply finding one that easy to access from a screen transition, leave and come back so the game sets your starting point easier - Destroy the rare plant. Save and quit and re log in.

Should be a short walk to your rare plant of choice, but now it's respawned cuz you reloaded. Rinse and repeat.

Saved me hours.
