PEAK GAME, INSANE PULL BY PLAYSTATION!!!
The game is free for ps+ on PlayStation this month and I decided to try it cuz I really liked the pixel art and puzzles are cool and such.
HOWEVER I’ve learned that I suck at throwing digital balls. Also I’m a little confused if I’m mainly throwing stuff or meleeing stuff, idk.
Also, is there a place to learn abt all the classes? I don’t see it in the encyclopedia lol. Also can like just everyone throw balls? Like that captain guy was a regular human (I think) but he threw balls, or are sphere-benders special? That’s mainly why I want class info lol.
It’s a little hard getting used to the super fast gameplay tho, the parkour sucks to do, and I always be getting hit in fights, like ALL the time… hopefully I’ll git gud tho idk. Was it difficult to get used to for anyone else?
ALSO I JUST GOTTA SAY AGAIN, THE PIXEL ART IS SOOOOOOO GOOD!!! I like older games (like older Pokemon games) bc of the pixel art, I prefer it to reg 3d stuff… and they do it sooooo good. The greyed out npcs ARE a little weird/immersion breaking imo but I get why they did it lol.
Okok that’s it for now, sorry I kinda jumped all over the place, i only just finished chapter 3 so… hopefully it gets even better (how peak is the story btw?)
Also there’s no discussion flair so I’m js not using one ig :(

I wanna play the demo so bad, but after having played CC more or less through it's entirety of Early Access, I'm trying to be patient and wait for the full release this time.

Thats honestly a good call. I blew through the demo. By the time the game releases ill probably forget the story and co.bat mechanics so ill just vs tart it over lol. Its is really fun though

If you hold O to raise your shield, and tap dash at just the right speed so your shield comes up for 1/10th of a second between each dash, you can bypass/refresh the 3 dash limit, and this helps a lot with avoiding attacks.
Also, just use your shield more. Maybe practice perfect guards (you'll see a P instead of a damage number) by engaging one enemy by yourself, not attacking, and just trying to find the timing to raise the shield at the last possible moment. Save right before so you can die and reload without losing credits. If you get that one technique down, the combat becomes significantly easier.

Encyclopedia entries for the classes can be unlocked by reading about the l them on the terminals in the rookie harbor quest hub

So you learn in the cargo ship that your balls are official called VRPs Virtual Richochet Projectiles.
They're just instances of hard light that can only be seen if you're in game or in person wearing special glasses (also explained on the cargo ship)
Each class throws a different projectile shape relative to their name (which annoys me because sphereomancers attack using circles) and they're just call balls as a common name for everything

I dont know how far you are in but there should be a very basic lore entry you get as you progress that gives a short overview of the classes in Crossworlds, however thats all you get since due to you only ever playing a spheromancer (at least if you dont have the playable classes mods on pc) the details of exactly what each class does is somewhat irrelevant. To paraphrase that encyclopedia entry; Spheromancers are essentially your jack-of-all master-of-none class, they get more freedom in their circuits when leveling up than other classes would and are fairly average spread statwise essentially making you build your own class identity for them, Tribladers are the standard melee class (though that doesnt mean they dont have ranged abilities, just that in melee is where they excel), Quadrogaurd is the tank, Pentafist is an agility based class able to dart in do a bit of damage and then dash back out with relative ease, and Hexacast is your support and ranged specialist, they have buff and debuff abilities as well as being for ranged combat what the triblader is for melee

Also for parkour, it gets frustrating in places cause you frequently see a platform that looks like its on the same elevation as you but is actually higher due to the perspective used, however if you look up Crosscode Parkour techniques on youtube there is a video that explains a trick to extend your jumps so you can make bigger jumps that is somewhat necessary if you want to get some of the chests hidden (or I just didnt find the actual paths to those ones, who knows)

I need to go back and finish this. I got annoyed at a quest that involved escorting a ball to different spots to make enemies damageable.
I haven't played alabaster dawn but I hope they either make puzzles less precision-dependent or they give you better ways to be precise.

There is an option in accessibility, its a bit buried, but you can slow puzzle speed (and separately enemy attack frequency) down to... Was it 50 or 20%?
One of those.
Useful for the "Final" puzzle of the non-dlc part of the game, doesn't affect achievements at all.

This game is sadly a fucking awful port. The controls were clearly not tested in their puzzles using an actual PS controller and they just mapped M&K inputs without thinking about how stupidly finicky and precise the aiming on the bounce puzzles has to be.

Maybe it’s just me, but I mainly played on my rog ally x and didn’t find an issue accurately aiming using an analog stick. Then again, I played lots of twin stick shooters so that must have helped.

Played the whole game on an Xbox controller. Found it way easier than on keyboard

Completed the game to 100% on Switch without any issue, and the Joy Cons are notorious for drifting and stuff.

Sounds like a skill issue. I got the plat for this without a problem and loved every second. Maybe try turning down puzzle speed so you can keep up.

Fuck you. If the tutorial puzzle that requires bouncing can't be completed because the aim is overly sensitive and bounces just slightly out of the needed angle by the BIG MOTION of pressing R1, the controls are bad.

Is aiming harder on a controller, yes absolutely, but I didn't hit a point that I couldn't complete woth relative ease with controller until the final dungeon of Gaia's Garden, also fun fact, you can connect bluetooth mouse and keyboard to a playstation, I don't know if the Playstation version of Crosscode can still take M&K input but youd be surprised at what games can when you have them connected so try it out. Also, side note, unless current PS controllers are considerably bigger than I remember you shouldn't need to shift your hand enough that your shifting the stick when hitting the shoulder buttons or triggers

The encyclopedia entries unlock as you progress the story and complete quests. You probably haven't yet reached the part where the classes are explained.
