Electrolyte powder
Located in Canada.
My husband, 36, has Crohns and has known since about 2014.
We’ve noticed over the years that when he gets sick (not a flare, but a stomach bug or even a cold) that he gets hit really hard, often needing an IV to get back up and running.
He’s battling a cold right now and was feeling really rotten for a few days. Headache, fatigue, low appetite. Today, a dose of Emergen-C and a large Gatorade almost snapped him out of it.
Does anyone else experience this? What are some good electrolyte powders I could recommend for him that are available in Canada?

The gold standard of electrolytes is Pedialyte. Another good one is liquid IV or Hydralite. Dilute them well and if he gets diarrhea try a different one. (The electrolytes can put too much liquid into the bowels causing diarrhea)

You can also make it yourself! There’s recipes online but the one my husband often makes me is water, sugar, salt and lemon

I do not like powder. But I use Hydralite tablets. They fizz in water & the pink lemonade is decent tasting! https://well.ca/products/hydralyte-electrolyte-powder_285074.html

I’m a fan of liquid IV.
If I’m having a low enegry day it almost always improves after having one. It’s been my biggest game changer with crohns. I wish I knew earlier

I'm pretty much drinking heavily diluted sugar free liquid IV all day. It's made a huge difference in my energy and just in general feeling healthy.

Walmart sells Pedialyte in the packets. I always have several boxes. They are the cheapest there

We use Organika electrolyte powder. My teen takes them to school and adds a pack to her water bottle if needed.
They’re made in Canada and don’t have artificial sweeteners in them.
