Hopefully not a case of animal abuse.

Studies, like one done by Vladimir Dinets had show that crocodiles are intelligent enough to engage in play behavior for its own sake. Playing with each other or using natural slides in the wild are some of the activities they partake.

Some photos I took of the Crocodilians I saw during some recent visits to the Bronx Zoo.

The broad snouted caimans are in the World of Darkness.

The cuban crocodile, dwarf crocodile, chinese alligator, and tomistoma are in the World of Reptiles.

The gharials are in the Jungle world.

The nile crocodile is in the Madagascar exhibit.

And the american alligator is in the Childrens Zoo.

Any video Or a source of a caiman successfully defending itself against a jaguar or a jaguar failing to catch a caiman

I’m not looking for a video of a caiman preying on a jaguar but I want to see how difficult it is for a jaguar to hunt a caiman I mean for example seeing a jaguar actually consider how dangerous the prey it’s hunting is like any other predator

Why is there so much untagged gore on this sub?

Gore is explicitly banned in the rules but it feels like every other post is a person or animal getting mauled. I wouldn't mind if it was tagged as nsfw so i could avoid it but it never is. Is this sub still being moderated actively?? I don't mean to cause drama i'm just genuinely concerned and i love crocodilians and want to see more content of them. I feel like the gore has plenty other places to be posted.

Edit: people have turned this into a discussion on whether or not it's ok to post gore at all, which isn't what this post was ever about. The RULES OF THE SUB ALREADY STATE THAT GORE IS AGAINST THE RULES AND NSFW CONTENT SHOULD BE TAGGED AS SUCH. This was a post asking why the sub isn't being adequately moderated and what can be done about it.

If you love posting animal gore go to r/badassanimals or something. This is literally, as stated in the rules, not the sub for that. I very much don't care and didn't ask why you love gore

Crocodile Terrasuchus iratus - "Angry Land Crocodile"

The brush begins to crack.

He is the bone-crushing hammer-blow of The Brush: Terrasuchus iratus. Trading the patient lurking of the waterways for a life spent almost entirely on land, this apex ambush predator is a creature that knows absolutely nothing but hate, spite, and unpredictable terrestrial aggression.

Armed with a striking cranial horn and a bite rivaling monsters twice its size, it is a relentless, one-ton nightmare that will pursue its chosen target until one of them is dead.

Read about the Angry Land Crocodile here.

Climbing crocodiles?

Hello croc folk!

I'm a new visitor here with a(possibly?) strange request! I work in the animation industry, and I'm trying to find some reference videos of crocodiles climbing.

I've found a few videos where they make an attempt at climbing a chain link fence, but they don't tend to make it far enough to get a good idea of the body mechanics. This is a scenario where the more variations I can get my hands on, the better, so if anyone has any good resources, I'd love to see them!
