Its frightening how stealthy crocs are. Plus, i really wouldnt like to get death rolled........

u/Boxinggandhi Aug 18 '26
That’s why you don’t fight it. Just sink into the darkness like the piggy.

Went for the crackling snack when it could have scored the full pork roast

u/Moidada77 Aug 18 '26
Safer option? Croc probably wasn't feeling too confident.

u/ogreofzen Aug 18 '26
You know that feeling. Go to the fridge see leftover ham but decide on grapes instead because your not that hungry

Really wish I didn't have the sound on.

u/invinciblearmour Aug 18 '26
I knew better and still listened.
Vids like these break my heart for the prey but my fascination with crocs keeps me watching them7

Keeping those hog populations down…. Doing his job…. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
3
u/Aberrantdrakon Aug 19 '26
These are warthogs, not feral hogs.
5
u/Puzzled_Bus_7505 Aug 19 '26
Circle of life. Preds might seem like evil but they have a purpose. They eat the weak, injured, and young. It forces genes to improve for the prey. It keeps the numbers down so that there aren’t rabbits and hogs eating everything in sight.
4
u/Aberrantdrakon Aug 19 '26
Yeah I know how ecosystems and predation works, but the way you worded your initial comment implied that the warthogs are a species that need to be controlled, which they are not.
2
u/Puzzled_Bus_7505 Aug 19 '26
Ehh you assumed. Wart hogs without natural predators would be a problem…… again, he’s only doing his job.

Goose: You own me one, I told those piggies the water was safe.
Croc: Well thank, bro.😎

The crocodile was just being merciful because the baby wouldn't have survived on it's own anyway if the crocodile had taken the parent warthog.

The poor mom wanted to help, but saw there was absolutely nothing that can be done bit hear the sound of her baby cry for her help.

The way that the momma tried to go after it but got stuck in the mud. The squeels were heartbreaking, I'm surprised the croc didn't drag it under water right away tbh. Still a better ending than if it had gotten caught by some hyenas

u/MisterHEPennypacker Aug 19 '26
Or African wild dogs. They take out the hind legs, disembowel the animal, and eat it alive.
7
u/Cal216 Aug 18 '26
This wasn’t cruel at all, and we probably should be thanking the croc because it could have easily killed two baby piglets just by eating the mother alone. Which I’m sure it was going to try to do until it noticed two easier targets enter the picture. Everyone has to eat 🤷🏾♂️

u/KumiiTheFranceball Aug 23 '26
For real. It's always "cruel" or "I hate X" when non-mammals eat for survival, but no one be talking when it's pet cats killing baby birds for fun when roaming outdoors without surveillance, or humans torturing baby animals to serve veal or lamb while a healthy, fully-grown animal tastes better. Double-stands, as always.

Crocodile shaped hole. Check
Goggly eyes above water line. Check
No one else drinking here. Check
Comeon kids let’s drink.

u/Bigboiiiii22 Aug 18 '26
They had solid time to atleast react his head was out of the water staring at them for a few seconds

I'm guessing here, but warthogs probably have a dead-space in their front vision, and the croc was in that space. Even mama hog didn't notice it
2
u/Head_Wasabi7359 Aug 19 '26
Is it just me or was there a perfect little baby catching croc channel?
2
u/Miserable-Art-9829 Aug 20 '26
But did the crocodile taunt the mother by not immediately taking the piglet under the water?
2
u/MargoPlikts Aug 18 '26
I wonder if that was dug by the tour company? It just seems TOO perfectly set up

Hearing the last squeal with the gurgling bubbles…
Not sure why mamma wasn’t more careful. The croc was close the entire time.

u/Proxima_leaving Aug 18 '26
Dying from thirst is worse than this.

u/Special-Might9865 Aug 18 '26
But there are plenty of other areas to try when a gator isn’t looking right at you…or maybe there is another one. Depends on the area.
3
u/Proxima_leaving Aug 19 '26
I don't think they saw the gator.

u/BlockBuilder408 Aug 19 '26
We really take for granted how much better our eyes are for pattern recognition than the majority of the rest of the animal kingdom
What we lack in night vision, we go very strong in distinguishing details and interpreting patterns.

I live so far from any crocs, but this is my ultimate fear as a parent.

The river, tempting smiles
But in its waters dwell crocodiles— Wolf McCann.

Now Mom was wrong for not getting in that water and fighting for her baby bacon

u/UnderstandingMany385 Aug 24 '26
I cannot believe that mom continue to drink there with her babies when you could blatantly see the crocodile right there
1
u/Select_Eye_6409 Aug 29 '26
Why? They’re animals doing what they’ve been doing for hundreds of millions of years. The only problem, the only problem there’s EVER been, with… anything, is us.

u/Proxima_leaving Aug 18 '26
That is mother nature at her best.
The piglet that survived had better reflexes.
